Taehyung let out a deep sigh, his arms crossed over his chest as he gazed at the younger man, who was staring blankly into space. His eyes looked distant as his fingers tapped against his arm on the table, the quiet rhythm almost unsettling in the suffocating silence.

The silence became so heavy that Jimin finally rose, intending to walk out, but Taehyung quickly stopped him by taking his hand and shaking his head. The elder sighed before looking back at Jungkook.

Taehyung walked toward Jungkook and placed an arm around his shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. Jungkook slowly looked up and flashed him a grateful smile.

"Let's get you changed," Taehyung spoke softly, glancing at the younger man who was still covered in blood.

"I'm a filthy, bloodthirsty psycho?" Jungkook asked weakly, his voice defeated. His shoulders slumped as he wrapped an arm around himself, looking smaller than he had moments ago.

"No."

"Yes."

Taehyung turned to look at Jimin, who had crossed his arms over his chest and was glaring at Jungkook. Jungkook slowly nodded before lowering his gaze back to his lap, his eyes dazed and a small frown settling between his brows.

"I know you've been through a lot, but you can't keep killing people like this. You need to stop all this madness and focus on changing yourself. We're really trying for you, but if you're not ready to change, that makes all our efforts worthless. You need to be considerate of us too," Jimin said, his voice firm but trembling slightly beneath the weight of his emotions.

"I'm sorry..." Jungkook uttered quietly, sighing deeply. His eyebrows furrowed together as he looked exhausted, as though even breathing had suddenly become difficult.

Jimin sucked in a breath before climbing onto the bed beside him.

"I'm s...sorry. Please don't leave me..." Jungkook continued, his voice barely audible.

Jimin wasted no time pulling him into a hug and placing a kiss on his cheek, even though he wasn't really in the mood to act lovingly toward the younger man tonight.

"You've been saying sorry a lot, Jungkookie," he whispered softly.

Jungkook simply snuggled deeper into his arms, holding onto him tightly as though letting go meant being abandoned all over again.

Who would have thought that a crazy psycho like Jungkook was just an abandoned child who had spent his entire life desperately needing attention, affection, and someone who would simply stay?

It was surprising.

It was heartbreaking.

Because the monster everyone feared had once been nothing more than a frightened child waiting for someone to save him.

Taehyung crossed his arms over his chest, staring at them with a blank expression as a thought suddenly crossed his mind.

"We were forty," Jungkook uttered quietly.

The words immediately caught their attention.

"Forty?" Jimin repeated, confused.

Jungkook nodded while still clinging to him like a koala.

"Where I was kidnapped, we were forty in number. Some were older than me, while some were younger..." His voice slowly faded as he stared into nothingness. "But they all died."

Taehyung immediately perked up, and Jimin's arm around Jungkook tightened.

"Only two people survived. They all ended up dead..."
