A man walked down the hallway, and the men in suits immediately bowed as he passed them. He stopped in front of the door leading to the main room, placed his palm against the scanner, and waited as it registered his fingerprint. The door opened instantly.
He stepped inside.
The room was filled with people dressed in white gowns, all moving around while carrying out their duties. Machines beeped continuously in the background, filling the laboratory with an eerie mechanical rhythm.
The man walked past them until he reached a doctor who was busy examining something and writing notes in his notebook.
He cleared his throat.
The doctor immediately looked up, a perfect smile appearing on his face.
"It's been fixed, sir. Please, come this way," he said brightly before turning around.
The man followed him.
They eventually arrived at a large, reinforced door. Both men looked toward the camera and allowed their irises to be scanned.
The door opened.
Inside, a monitor continued beeping.
A lifeless man lay in the center of the laboratory, surrounded by machines. Different wires were attached to his body, while his eyes remained tightly closed.
"We're waiting for the boss to give his consent," the doctor explained as they approached the patient.
The man walked closer, staring down at the pale face and chapped lips.
Then his voice filled the room.
"You may begin."
There was an unmistakable authority in his tone.
The doctors immediately moved aside, giving him access to the body.
He reached toward the patient's chest and pressed a small button.
A sudden alarm echoed throughout the building.
A female voice came through the speakers.
"Will you start the repair analysis? If yes, press zero."
The man pressed the button.
The monitor suddenly stopped reading.
The wires began sparking.
The entire room trembled.
Then the roof slowly opened, revealing a massive mechanism shaped almost like a needle.
A terrible mechanical noise filled the room.
The scientists immediately covered their ears as the entire building shook violently, making it feel as though the structure could collapse at any moment.
The needle-like mechanism descended.
It struck the body.
A deafening sound filled the laboratory.
The words CODE RED repeatedly flashed across the monitors.
Then the female voice spoke again.
"Congratulations. You have successfully repaired Park JM, created by Jeon Jaehyun."
The man smirked.
He turned around.
And pulled out his gun.
Before the doctors could react, he opened fire.
The laboratory erupted into chaos.
The doctor screamed and tried to escape, but the man only smiled.
