The time passed and we bid our goodbyes to Bob, he then was buried and half the group decided to go to Washington. For another chance of life, Maggie left. And I was heartbroken, I remembered the warm long hug, I gave her and the words I said to wish her well.

But I didnt understand earlier, I realise now. I don't know what's going to happen, I probably won't see her again, and when we find Beth again how do I tell her that her sister left to travel to Washington. They might never see each other again and how is Bethy going to react.

"Anna," Daryl approached me, bringing me back from my thoughts. I didn't realise and process it but I was standing alone in the cold, looking out to the forest in the dark sky. With the stars barely lighting it up.

"Yeah..?" I looked up to the man who was now holding onto my forearms keeping me steady.

"You should come back inside, I don't want you being taken or attacked or some shit like that," He told me with a husky voice which caused a blush to rise to my cheeks.

"Wait where were you, earlier? You and Carol were just gone," I asked him which caused him to lower his head.

"They took Carol, same pricks that have got beth..
We'll look tomorrow, jus' let's get some rest," Daryl exclaimed.

I nodded in response as we walked side by side back into the church, noticing everyone asleep as Daryl lay out a pillow and a blanket for me right beside his.

I stood silent, staring down at my feet with negative thoughts swirling around my mind.

"What's the matter?" Whispered Daryl, keeping his voice low since everyone else had drifted to sleep.

"Do you think we'll find Beth?" I asked him as my voice cracked and a burning feeling in my throat began to rise. My eyes felt heavy as I blinked and a tear ran down my cheek.

"Yeah I do," He muttered, looking over to me as I did the same to him. Carefully, he placed his hand on my cheek, wiping the small tears that slipped from my eyes. "Don't worry 'bout it"

A small chuckle escaped my lips, and he nodded in return. I sat down to the floor and then lay my head on my pillow, slipping off my boots and then pulling the blanket over me. Daryl shook his head to remove his thoughts and then did the same, laying his head on his pillow as we lay inches apart.

"You know.. you really are my favourite," I whispered to him, turning my head to the side to look at him as he did the same.

"Fuck off" A small chuckle escaped his lips to let me know it was sarcasm.

I giggled along side him, attempting to keep quiet but we weren't. A shiver ran down my spine and my teeth chattered duo to the cold atmosphere. "Goodnight Daryl," I turned my head away and lay on my side, curling up within the blanket and eventually drifting off.

"Annabelle," I heard his gruff voice say, waking me up from my deep sleep. I opened my eyes slowly and looked up to Daryl crouched beside me.
"We're goin out, stay here with Gabriel, Carl and Judith?" He asked me.

"Yeah sure thing.." I sat up and rubbed my eyes, shielding them from the beaming sun which was shining in through the windows.

Daryl nodded in return, standing up as I watched everyone temporarily say goodbye. I itched my neck and stood up, taking the wailing baby out of the teenagers arms.

"Shh it's okay girl," I patted her back slowly and sat down on the church bench. Carl nodded to me with a smile and began barricading the doors.

I looked down to the now giggling infant and a smile curved on my lips unknowingly. "You're so beautiful Judith.." I whispered to her in which she kept giggling in response.
