The moon was shimmering in the dark night sky, all we could hear was crickets chirping and an occasional whisper from one of the three of us. We managed to escape from the never ending forest and stumbled across a broken, run down car with the boot lifted open. "I guess this is it," I murmured, smiling over to beth and daryl as I jogged towards it. I swiftly checked the car, the doors wouldn't close and the windows were smashed.

Behind us followed a long trail of walkers and the lightning struck through the sky. "Guys come on!" I whisper-yelled to them and they ran over to me. I waited for beth to climb into the car-boot and then me, following Daryl. He shut the bolt down, keeping us safe inside. Beth lay down, slouching against the walls of the boot. I was squished in the middle of the two, Daryl on his side, keeping his crossbow handy and we lay in silence. The mere growling and snarling was all we heard. Daryl tied a rope to the boot, keeping it secure and shut it case of any danger. Walkers thumbed and stumbled into the car, but quickly moved on being unaware of our presence. Thunder shot down and the lightning and rain flickered through the sky.

"You should get some rest Beth," I whispered to her and passed her my jacket, she lay down using it as a pillow and stayed silent, me and daryl not knowing if she was actually asleep. She lay on her side, facing away from us and we sat in an awkward silence.

"You gon' rest too?" Daryl questioned me, still clutching his crossbow and peering through the gaps of the window.

"Nah. Too dangerous, besides can't leave you to keep watch the whole night alone," I whispered to him, looking over to him.

He lay on his side, keeping his back to me. He turned his head and replied "I'll be fine" He grunted.

"Okay" I agreed and lay down on my side as-well, the opposite side to beth and all I could see were the wings on daryl's jacket.

I closed my eyes, attempting to drift off and I did a couple of times, but was rudely woken up by the thunder booming and the occasional snarl.

"Oi, wake up" I heard from a deep masculine voice as I felt large hands on my shoulders, shaking me gently to wake up. I opened my eyes slowly and was greeted by Daryl's typical frown.

The sun beamed in through the gaps in the window and shone directly into my bright blue eyes.

I groaned and sat up, rubbing my eyes and Daryl opened up the boot, allowing us to climb out. "Jeez, could've given some fucking warning" I whined as I slowly climbed out after them. "So what's the plan for today?" I asked and placed my hands firmly on my hips.

"Eating that.." Murmered Beth as she motioned towards the skinned snake that rested on the car.

"Where the fuck did you find that?" I gasped and picked it up, examining the snake.

"Went out this mornin' you two were out like a night light," Grunted Daryl as he snatched it off me.

"Okay asshole," I muttered under my breath and rolled my eyes. I looked at our new surroundings and Daryl had made a fire, with a knife and dead snake skin on the ground. He placed it down and we patiently waited for the once deadly creature to now become our next meal.

Around an hour had passed on and daryl was devouring the snake in silence and only looking up if he heard a twig snap.
"I need a drink." Whined beth as she placed down her snake. I passed her a bottle of water and she shut it down. "No like a real drink, as in alcohol? i've never had one, cuz of my dad.. but he's not really around anymore. I thought we could go find some?" Spoke Beth as I fully listened to what she was saying, but Daryl completely ignored her and acted like she didn't exist. "Okay.. enjoy your snake jerky," Said Beth while standing up and grabbing her knife, walking away from the two of us. I brushed the meat off my hands and stood up, following after her. Daryl followed closely behind me.

We stumbled across a large field with a golf course and a fancy white country club. "Golfers like to booze it up right?" She chuckled and lead the way into the posh building.

Daryl checked it for walkers and it was clear, then he allowed us to step in. It was full of useless and wasted items, furniture and all sorts of clothes, just gathered together. Beth started rummaging through the liquor cabinets, while me and Daryl searched the room for necessary things.

"How 'bout some peach schnapps? Is it good enough for my first drink?" Asked beth while picking up the single bottle. She looked over to me and Daryl, we were both focused on looking for supplies that we weren't listening.

"Guys!" Called out Beth a little louder while holding up the bottle. "Is it good?"

"No" Replied Daryl quickly and continued to rummage through the cabinets. I didn't reply, not taking my eyes off the pistol I found packed away. She sat down at one of the bar stools and carefully twisted the lid.

"You good at darts?" Asked Daryl while tapping my shoulder, I placed the gun in my waistband and looked over to the darts board.

"I'm alright" I smiled at him and he passed me dart. He threw the first one, but not at the board and at a frame picture of men, aiming for their faces. I shrugged my shoulders and followed what Daryl did, hitting the men in their sorry rich faces.

I heard beth murmur and then whimper, I looked over to her face with tears running down. I walked to her and placed a soft hand on her back and rubbed it. Daryl followed and threw the bottle. "Your first drink ain't gonna be no damned peach schnapps," Said Daryl while opening the exit. "Come on," We stood up and followed him outside. He led us both all throughout the woods once again and we were back to square one. Strolling past the trees as usual and searching for a bar out of all things.

"A motorcycle mechanic!" Guessed beth out loud and then looked to daryl. "Is that what you were before all this, did Zack ever guess that one?"

"Don't matter, it ain't for a long time" Grunted Daryl as we walked back through the forest and Daryl led us too a small building. "Found this with Michonne"

"I was expecting a liquor store" I chuckled.

"Nah this is better" Said Daryl leading the way into the building.
