Chapter 218 - I won't regret. (1)
With the answer that he wanted to hear Jiang MingYuan became much more "docile". His arms around her waist relaxed some and Cheng Huan finally had some room to move around.
She shoveled around some on his thighs and let the numbing legs have a rest. The man behind her was sniffing her neck like a puppy, his breathing gave her a tingling sensation in her neck.
Cheng Huan patted his hand there was resting on her waist. The man grumbled and, his lips, that was touching her neck moved a little.
"Let go. You need to drink this soup first."
"Mmm." It was still that same monotonous sound. This time her words seemed to have registered with him. After a little while, the arms that were wrapped around waist finally loosened.
Cheng Huan stood up right away and took a few steps to alleviate the stiffness in her legs. She let out a long sigh of relief and picked up the bowl of soup to check its temperature.
It had been such a long time that the soup was no longer warm. It was even a little cold.
He couldn't drink this anymore and Cheng Huan planned to make a new bowl for him. With the bowl in her hand, she turned and said to Jiang MingYuan, "You wait here for a little bit. I will go make you a new bowl."
The man didn't response to her. He just stared squarely at her. When she turned and was about to walk away, he followed her.
He was drunk and didn't have a very good sense of balance. He was fine when he was not in a rush. Now that he tried to hurry, he bumped right into the coffee table. The glass made his knee hurt. Jiang MingYuan frowned a little, bent down, gave himself a rub, and continued walking forward.
Cheng Huan walked inside of the kitchen, looked around his refrigerator, and had a helpless look on her.
Jiang MingYuan almost never cooked at home. It was quite empty in his refrigerator; there wasn't even a bottle of water inside of it. As such, the green gift box with the ingredients for hungover soup was particularly eye-catching.
The box was not very big, perhaps the size of a palm. The items inside were nicely divided up into individual sets. All one needed to do was to take out one pre-packaged set when needed. Cheng Huan read the instructions on it, took out a set of the ingredients, and started the stove.
When she was making the soup, Jiang MingYuan followed behind her like a human-size attachment that was thirsty for physical contact at all times. Cheng Huan had to keep an eye out on the stove while withstand the harassment from the man behind her.
By the time the hangover soup was ready, the man behind her reflexively took the pot from her to clean. Nevertheless, he had forgotten that he was inside his own place. Nevermind about dishwashing fluid, there wasn't even a sponge to use.
The man stood there, dazed, for a little while with the pot in his hand before he finally turned on the water and was about to clean it with his bare hands.
"Just leave it. Don't you have maid who comes? You don't need to clean that." Cheng Huan was enjoying the moment and finally reminded him after she was done enjoying herself. She patted the man on his shoulder for him to put the pot down and to drink the soup.
Cheng Huan didn't use too much water when she made the soup and the temperature was just right right now. Jiang MingYuan put down the pot, took the bowl from her, and downed the entire bowl of black and odd-smelling soup.
No hangover soup looked or smelled good, but they were very effective. It didn't take long after he had drunk the soup before his headache started to go away. Jiang MingYuan's frown lessened and he was sleepy all of a sudden. Putting the bowl down, he wrapped his arm around the one in front of her and was about to start walking outward. "Let's go to bed."
"Hey, hey, hey!" With his arm around her, Cheng Huan could barely see where she was going. She said a few "hey" to no avail. The man continued to bring her toward the bedroom in their awkward gait.
