Chapter 223 - "You bought me clothes?" (2)
The main purpose that Cheng Huan was heading into the restaurant was to give out red pockets for the new year.
The overtime schedule over the New Year time had already been set. The restaurant would be open everyday with the exception of New Year Eve and New Year Day. Cheng Huan's original plan was to hand out the red pockets on the second day of the new year as a lucky gesture, but not that her plans had changed, she would have to come by now.
She had taken out these new bills in advance. With the money inside the red pockets, they were puffy and just looked like they had a lot of money inside of them.
Cheng Huan's shop hadn't been opened for a long time but it had great business and she had made quite a bit of money in the past few months. She wasn't a frugal person and giving her employees more money would make them happier.
Many come to City S to work and had already returned to their home town by now. The city that was usually bustling now seemed a bit empty. Cheng Huan's restaurant business was inevitably affected some. When Cheng Huan went over, there was only one to two tables of diners.
She walked into the back kitchen with her purse, pulled out the red pockets and handed them out to everyone in order. The employees who had received the red pockets were happy and even happier when the saw the amount inside of them. They were much less disgruntled about having to work overtime over the New Year time.
Cheng Huan planned to head home after she was done handing out the red pockets. There were two people waiting for her at home. As she went downstairs on the escalator, she saw the promotional sign of the watch shop next to the escalator. That reminded her of Jiang MingYuan's suits day in and day out. She turned around and decided to go and buy some clothes for him.
It was already the 28th and many of the shops were already closed. Of the remaining ones that were still open, they no longer have all different sizes for the products.
Cheng Huan went over to a specific floor and decided on the last shop at the end. This was a semi-luxurious brand and its price range with within what Cheng Huan considered as acceptable.
The men's clothing shop had delicate décor and there were not a lot of clothes on the rack. The salesperson was not too eager but would provide their customers with a detail rundown of an item when they had their eyes on one. Cheng Huan looked around some and finally picked out a striped, grey cashmere sweater. It was a kind of charcoal grey overall with some light grey and black decorations on its sleeves, very pleasing to one's eyes.
"You have good taste. This is our newest product. It makes one looks skinny and also very comfortable." The salesperson wrapped up one that was the size that Cheng Huan had asked for as she smiled and recommended to her other tops and trousers that could go along with it.
Cheng Huan spent a total of half an hour inside the shop and had four to five shopping bags in her hands when she walked out. Inside of them was a set of winter clothes that was definitely pleasing to the eyes.
It was almost 4 PM when she walked out of the shopping mall and Cheng Huan waited for 20 minutes with all of her stuff before she was able to flag down an available taxi. After she had gotten into the car with all of her bags, she closed the door behind her, let out a long sigh, and decided to make getting a driver license her next goal.
The sun was already half set by the time she got home and Jiang MingYuan was tutoring XingXing on his mathematics.
XingXing could already count up to 200 and could do addition and subtraction within 50. When Cheng Huan got home, the little kiddo was counting his fingers.
He counted for a while, scratched his head, and came up with an answer that he wasn't too certain about. "48?"
