Chapter 239 - "Oh, you missed me so much?" (3)
The Jiang family started doing businesses back in the previous dynasty by now the family had grown a lot. Though not everyone in the family was successful. By now, Jiang MingYuan was the most successful one of all and many of the relatives want to mooch a little bit off of him. They would not otherwise
The two at the table had a electronic component company and a construction material company, respectively. Both of them did decently. Not great, but not bad either. These were exactly the kind who were always looking for better opportunities. They figured that if they were able to do business with Jiang MingYuan, the size of their businesses would increase by several folds.
Jiang MingYuan paid no attention to the explicit and subtle hints over the table as though all of his attention was focused on the mahjong in front of him. And, as though he was truly very unlucky today, he had been losing the entire time and been paying everyone else. His alacrity made others around them envious and all of them wanted to replace the ones currently sitting at the table so they could fill in and make that money instead.
It was no fun when Jiang MingYuan kept on losing. Cheng Huan was bored after a little while and went outside to look at fireworks.
A town nearby was a tourist location and there would be fireworks on New Year Eve for the tourists' appreciation.
The buildings were short here and barely anything over three-story in height. She could fully appreciate the fireworks even from where she was.
There were others in the courtyard besides her and most of them were kids. There were some women as well. It hasn't been long before someone came over to chat her up. They all started with some random chitchat and eventually led onto her relationship with Jiang MingYuan.
It was quite unpleasant chatting with these people and Cheng Huan looked for an excuse to return to the house. It so happened that the cousin daughter had returned with XingXing. Taking a look at the time, she gave Jiang MingYuan a heads up that she was going to take XingXing home to put him to bed.
Jiang MingYuan was planning on leaving as well but he was stopped by the others before he could even stand up. These people only get to see him for a few days a year and only wished that they could have 24 hours a day to get close to him. For sure they would not be letting him off the hook so easily. The man, helpless, gave her an apologetic look and had her returned home and gone to bed early.
Cheng Huan pursed her lips, slightly displeased, before taking XingXing home with her. They bathed and she put the child to bed. XingXing was tired from playing all night long and started snoring not too long after.
Cheng Huan wasn't sleepy at all even after XingXing had fallen asleep. Sitting on a chair outside of the secondary bedroom, she texted Jiang MingYuan and told him not to stay out too late and that she would be waiting up for him.
Jiang MingYuan couldn't quite resist this kind of warm care. Cheng Huan could hear noises coming from downstairs half an hour after she had texted him.
With her cellphone in hand, Cheng Huan walked out with a smile and ran into the man who was just about to walk upstairs. Both of them walked toward each other and met up half way.
Jiang MingYuan put his arms around her silently, lowered his head and kissed her. Cheng Huan lifted her head and did not object to his invasion. After a long while, the man retrieved his lips and tongue and gave her a gentle peck. As he pecked her, he smiled and said in a deep voice, "You missed me that much, huh?"
Cheng Huan denied that. "You are the one who wanted to come home."
"Oh, you could tell that?" The man voice sounded even happier. Having said that, he started sucking on her lips all over again.
He bit a little harder. Cheng Huan let out a grunt, pushed him away, and said while trying to catch her breath. "Isn't that obvious?"
