Chapter 3.2 - Lost Memories

"So what should we do next?"

The words came from none other than Chris who was feeling demotivated before. It seemed like the early conversation lifted his spirits and I was glad for the fact that there was no hostility aiming at me anymore.

"Let me see the assignment note."

Alex was searching for our next course of action in the pamphlet as we all sat around him. Since we finished our work earlier than expected, everyone agreed that we should rest here till the next team arrives.

"Oh, I got it. It says 'excavation' in here so maybe we are the next team to investigate the crash site.", Alex remarked.

Chris raised his fist enthusiastically.

"Oh yes!!! About time that happened!!!"

The rest of the guys agreed to his enthusiasm by nodding their heads.

"So I suggest you take your notes and bring them to the site. We need to properly document  our studies after all."

As Alex spoke those words Chris became still like he saw a ghost.

"Maybe it would be better if we wait till the next team comes here. Right, guys?"

His suggestion was immediately rejected by a furious Isabel as she was sitting beside him crossing her arms.

"Speak for yourself, you lazy spitfire!!!"

Chris pounced right back at her without wasting a moment.

"What did you say, you female gorilla!!!"

"Did you just call me gorilla, you hot-headed freak!!!"

"Yeah, I did. Got a problem with that ?!"

"You bet I do!!!"

As they begin to clash their heads like two delinquents, which in this case seems to be true, Alex clears his throat to get the attention of both of them.

As the two began to look at us dumbfounded,  Alex started to talk.

"You know, having fun and games are all fine but try to remember that you guys are still the students of Pristine Academy. And both of you look at Glenn and Liz." He then pointed towards both Liz and myself and looked back at them. "How do you think they will react if both of you act like children?"

What he said was true since I was also sitting there dumbfounded after watching that. It was not because I was surprised to see two people arguing. It was because the madonna in our group, Isabel, who was acting all ladylike till a moment ago went into berserk mode.

Just like that, she shattered the ideals I placed on her as a perfect woman. Today only, I saw her bossy side, her caring side as well as her violent side.

Maybe she was always like this in our school since I never tried to interact with her before but was still surprised to see that she was more than what meets the eye.

Moreover, it seems like Liz was also looking dazed at them.

Because of seeing both of us spectators in a dazed state, the violent side of Isabel quickly subsides as she quickly hides her face out of embarrassment.

Seeing her state like that and the silence that followed, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Ha...ha...ha...!!!"

I tried to laugh while hiding my face and Alex also started to laugh even though he was the one who just lectured him. As we continued to laugh, Isabel's face started to turn redder by the second and Liz hid her face under her hat while Chris just looked back and forth scratching his head.
