Darkness.Yes, that was the only thing I could see.
When I look left, I see it. When I look right, I see it.
And in this darkness twinkled a flame. The flame was just a flicker compared to the darkness enveloping us.
But it flickered, and so laughter filled the void.
Their loud mouths roared as they laughed, reverberating across the darkness until it slowly settled.
The Wrath brothers- yes, that's what they called themselves.
Their physique kind of reached that expectation. But their minds, not so much.
They were rude, loud, and fight with each other. But I can see that their souls are purer than anyone. I can feel an invisible brotherly bond between those three that is difficult to put into words.
So I waited. I waited until their antics were over.
Earlier it was because of my clothes, but now it was because of that meat and who should get the larger piece from it.
And so it began. But I waited.
As the dust settled and their stomachs full, Wagnar hit his bloated belly which gave a dull thud.
"Hah, that feels refreshing.", he remarked rubbing his belly.
But unfortunately, others were not as pleased as he was.
They both looked at him ready to pounce. But because of Wagnar having his other hand grabbing his big axe tightly, the two brothers stood still.
Silence permeated the atmosphere after it felt like a heavy rain. But not for long.
Theo, the youngest of the bunch, shifted his gaze towards me. His eyes twitched a few times under the flame before looking at me.
Finally, he spoke.
" So what are doing here?", his question warned the other brothers to join in on the conversation as well.
As they eagerly sat there in anticipation, I tried to trace back the events that happened before my eyes.
With a sigh, I pointed my fingers upwards and I said, "I fell from there."
The three looked at the black ceiling above before looking back at me. Their gazes unflinched as if this was a daily occurrence to them.
The middle one, Ragark, with a composed look, looked at others and spouted, "Looks like the boss was right."
The others matching his serious gaze also agreed.
"What boss?", I asked eagerly.
"Oh, he is our boss.", Wagner exclaimed.
"He is the strongest of us all.", Ragark said proudly.
"He is the bravest of us all.", Theo commented.
"So where is he?", I asked.
The trio then pointed towards the endless darkness like there was something but I couldn't see it.
"He is there? Why?" I was hysterical. It felt like they were trying to pull one over me. But the next second I felt something.
It was a feeling that I never experienced before. It was an otherworldly feeling. Like I am dancing in the palm of someone's hands.
So I went and asked the eldest one, "Can you tell me your name again?"
"It's Wagnar", he replied delightfully.
