"So what do you think we should do?"

"For the time being I think we should call it a day and start tomorrow."

Isabel was sitting in a tree trunk inquiring about me for our next course of action.

The darkness swept its way around us while we were taking our time leisurely. The top of the canopy was pitch-black like it made no difference as to how we see a dark sky.

Watching a sight like this made me wonder about two things- one for how I slept peacefully for two days and still alive and the other for how Isabel survived without giving up to fear.

The fact that I noticed that this girl was quite the scaredy cat and still lived to tell the tale felt astonishing to me. I thought that she would be screaming her lungs out in this situation but she sounds pretty calm all things considered. I don't know if it's because of my presence or if she's trying to put a brave face in front of me.

But what I do know is that I should try to find some firewood and hopefully create a flame.

"What are you doing?", Isobel looked at me perplexed.

"Trying to find some wood..."

"You don't need a fire in this place though."

"Huh, what are you talking about?"

"He..he.." She smirked. "Just wait and look above and you will understand."

Although I can't see her face clearly, I can sense that quirky smile of hers.

So following her advice I decided to look up at the dark canopy, only to leave me astonished.

"Wait, what is it?"

"You didn't get to see the fun part yet."

The dark canopy now started to show small spots of light like a blanket of stars.

What made it peculiar was that it not only just shines but was moving as well.

"Is that stars? No, it's fireflies, right?", I asked Isobel still looking at the spectacle in wonder.

"Glenn, brace for impact."

With the little light that was reaching my eyes from the ceiling, I looked at Isabel and I noticed that she tucked her head away under her arms.

Unable to find the reason behind her words, I looked up and realised that what felt like fireflies was not flying around but was falling straight at us!

Because what was seen like some fireflies was actually some kind of bio-luminescent powder.

I immediately covered my head and braced for the impact.

Seconds later, the powder came crashing down on us spreading everywhere making us look like a human-sized firefly. It took some time to settle and what was left of it was simply breathtaking.

"Woah!!!" I stood there agape.

"Yeah pretty cool, right?"

What seemed like a pitch-black ground seconds earlier completely turned into an illuminating one and the sight was simply breathtaking.

"It really is beautiful."

"Right?! If not for this, forget about surviving, I might have dropped dead out of fear."

Her voice brimmed with excitement.

Now I know why she was acting confident before.

"You know, I kind of forget about asking this but what did you eat during this time? You wouldn't have survived if you didn't eat anything. "
