20. Dance!!

   Shriya felt relaxed hearing Mr and Mrs Mehra's talk... She smiled and talked with them... Sharad felt happy seeing Shriya smiling... He was admiring her...

Mrs. Mehra: "See... This Sharad is so in love with his wife... How he is just staring at her lovingly!"

Sharad coughs and averts his gaze quickly... Shriya chuckles a little seeing him... Mr. and Mrs. Mehra leave them and go towards the stage...

Mr Mehra welcomes everyone and then announces that their son 'Omkar' is going to soon marry his childhood love 'Vaibhavi'... Omkar and Vaibhavi come on the stage and they greet everyone.... People cheer for them...

They all come down from the stage and Sharad and Shriya go to congratulate them...

Sharad: "Congratulations Omkar and Vaibhavi " ...

Omkar: "Thanks, buddy... Congratulations to you too on getting married... Is she your wife?"

Sharad: "Yes... Meet Dr. Shriya Goenka... My wife" ...

Omkar: "Nice meeting you Shriya.. Meet my fiance Vaibhavi " ...

Shriya greets them and talks with them happily... Even Shriya and Vaibhavi become friends...

Mr Mehra: "The party seems boring without dance... So all gentlemen, ask your lady for the dance... I will go and ask for a dance from my lady" ...

Everyone starts chuckling hearing Mr Mehra... Even Shriya laughs hearing him... Sharad is busy staring at his wife...

Omkar goes on his knees and forwards his hand to Vaibhavi for a dance... Vaibhavi shyly keeps her hand on his... Everyone cheers for the new soon-to-be couple... And they move towards the stage hand in hand and start dancing with the music...

Mr Mehra: "Sharad... Shriya... What are you both waiting for? The dance stage is also for you both" ...

Sharad: "No uncle... We are fine here" ...

Mr Mehra and Mrs Mehra come towards them and tell them to not be shy... As they both are married now... Sharad looks at Shriya and she nods...

Sharad forwards his hand and Shriya clasps his hand... They both move towards Omkar and Vaibhavi... Even Mr. and Mrs. Mehra joined them...

Song plays...

(Sharad is holding Shriya's waist possessively and his other hand is interlocked with her hand... Shriya held his chest for support... Both look at each other and then avert their gaze looking at the dance floor.... Their eye contact only lasts for 5 seconds...)

Song stops and the partners get exchanged... Sharad dances with Vaibhavi and Shriya with Omkar... But Sharad and Shriya's gaze are fixed on each other instead of their respective partners... The dance ends and Sharad comes near Shriya and holds her hand...

Omkar comes near Sharad and takes him towards the bar... Sharad first says no but then Omkar doesn't listen to him... Vaibhavi comes near Shriya and gives her company...

These two girls start discussing their work and Omkar makes Sharad drink forcefully...

Vaibhavi gets a call and she excuses herself from Shriya... Shriya sits silently looking towards some people dancing and some gossiping... She doesn't know anyone here except Mr. Mehra's family... But they all are busy talking with guests...

She looks towards Sharad... He is busy drinking and talking with Omkar... He also looks at Shriya and smiles... She understood that he had drunk too much...

Her attention is disturbed by the man standing near her... He sits near Shriya's seat... Shriya gets uncomfortable and she decides to move to another place.. when that man asks her name...

Shriya: "I am sorry... I don't reveal my name to strangers" ...

Man: "Oh... You are looking so beautiful you know" ...

The man looks at Shriya with disgusting looks... Shriya gets angry with him but she decides to stay silent as she doesn't want to create a scene...

Man: "Why are you not speaking darling? Come with me... Let's dance" ...

Shriya was going to say something when Sharad came and held her waist tightly... Shriya looks at him... His eyes are red with anger...

Sharad: "Stay away from my wife...She is mine... Leave from here before I beat you black and blue" ...

That man leaves from there seeing Sharad angry...
Shriya clasps Sharad's other hand and looks at him... She cupped his face... Sharad looks at her and calms down...

Shriya: "Sharad... You are drunk now... Please don't create a scene... Let's leave from here" ....

She makes him sit and tells him to not leave this place till she comes back... He nods his head like a small child and sits putting a finger on his lips... Shriya chuckles looking at him...

Shriya goes towards Mrs. Mehra and informs them that she and Sharad are leaving... She doesn't tell about Sharad's drunken state... She tells Mrs. Mehra that some emergency case has arrived in her clinic... So they both are leaving... Finally, Mrs. Mehra agreed...

Shriya goes towards Sharad and sees him sitting there in the same position with his finger still on his lips... She tells him to get up and holds his hand...

Sharad is so drunk that he is unable to walk properly... Shriya supports him by keeping his hand on her shoulder and with difficulty she brings him outside the venue...
