We stay like that for a while and then he kisses my head and says, "as much as I just want to go to sleep and hold you tonight, we better make an appearance. And, we have a few things we have to finish up tonight before the conference tomorrow."

I moan, "ugh, I hate that you're right. Do you think they are going to know?"

He rolls on top of me, kissing me again. "I don't give a damn if they do, but I know you have a family and I'm willing to be as discreet as you need us to be. I care about you, Maddie. This isn't just an opportunity because we are out of town."

I nod, "I can't promise to leave him, Donovan."

He kisses me and gets up, reaching for our clothes, "I didn't ask you to leave him. Not yet, at least. I can't say it won't come, but I'm not asking that yet." He pauses and he buttons his pants up, "I am asking you to figure out how to say no to my father. I'm asking you to choose me there." My dress on, I'm tying the halter when he makes his request.

"This isn't an excuse, but he doesn't make it easy to say no."

I see anger cross your face. "What do you want, Maddie? Because for now, I understand not being able to leave Jason. But, I can't just share you with my father."

I put my shoes back on and move to his bathroom to fix my appearance however I can. I check my phone and a ridiculous number of missed calls and texts and voicemails form Jason. A few from Dimitri as well. I don't open any of them. They won't ruin this. I know everything is okay at home, because I texted our oldest before dinner telling her I'd be out for dinner and she texted me goodnight an hour ago, reminding me that they were staying at my moms tonight as Jason had to work.

Not answering Donovan wasn't meant to be an answer, but I think he takes it as one as he stalks around the room finishing the righting of his clothing. Once I'm somewhat presentable, and have gathered my thoughts some, I join him in his room again. He's there with his jacket, holding it out for me. As I slide my arms into in, "Donovan. I'm not choosing your dad. I just have to figure out how to handle this. It could get messy."

He runs his hands down my arms and pulls my back against him. "I know," he says into my hair, "but please try."

I hug his arms to me, "I promise."

We head out of his private entrance and walk around to the truck. He gets the almost forgotten desserts out of the back and holds my hand, letting go as we near the front porch. Walking inside, I stop short. Panic across my face, I'm sure. Sitting in the living room, I see Dimitri with Rafe and Dominic, and sitting with his back to me is Jason.

Before I can collect myself, he turns in his seat. Blue eyes icy as he looks from me to Donovan, Donovan's jacket on my shoulders. Me in a dress he's never seen before. The room is silent now, where good natured laughter filled it only moments before. The car outside wasn't Logan's. Jason must have gotten a rental. Which means he was out here with the other men while Donovan was making love to me across the cabin. He was down the hall while another made took his time enjoying my body.

Jason stands up and steps around his chair. Fury and disgust on his face. Standing above six feet himself, my firefighter husband turns plenty of heads himself. I take a step forward, pulling Donovan's jacket closed around me. "Jason." I feel Donovan take a step closer to me, careful to not stand too close.

He doesn't acknowledge me, and no one except Donovan could see his expression. Relaxing and smiling before turning to face the other men, he says, "gentleman, if you don't mind, I'd appreciate a moment alone with my wife."

Dimitri immediately says, "absolutely! I must head up to the office to finalize some things anyways. It's been a busy few days and we still aren't quite ready for tomorrow morning. Great to see you again, Jason." He shakes his hand and is heading up the stairs in no time.

Rafe and Dominic look from me to Jason, then from me to Donovan. Dominic just nods and heads towards the hall leading to their rooms.

Rafe, however, hesitates, "you good, Madelyn?"

Before I speak, Donovan says, "she's good, Rafe."

I watch as anger flashes across Rafes face. Incredibly out of character for him, "I asked Madelyn."

I just give him a nod. There's nothing romantic between Rafe and I. I just met him this morning, although it feels like days ago. But he has a brotherly vibe and I appreciate his concern.

Once Rafe has left the room, Jason steps close to me and looks at Donovan, "I don't believe you're my wife."

Donovan looks at me, but I don't meet his gaze. I'm fighting tears, and fear, as I stand between the two men. "I'm sure as hell not. Her husbands an asshole who was screaming at her through a phone at lunch today. So, don't hold it against me if I'm afraid to leave her with the man behind that voice when he looks as pissed as you do right now." His jaw is tight, his hands balled into fist. He takes a step coming between me and Jason and then says to me, "I'll be in the kitchen. Because I respect you as a woman capable of handling herself. But if I feel like you need me, I'm coming back in." I barely nod and I watch his back as he walks away from me.

Once we are alone, Jason steps close and grips my chin turning my face to his. His voice is low so no one else in the house can hear him.  "What the fuck, Madelyn? You lied to me? And tonight I see you coming home from a date with your bosses son dressed like a little whore." He squeezes my face, "how long have you been fucking him?"

A tear spills and he squeezes my face harder, I choke out a sob, but don't pull away. "Jason, you're hurting me." He doesn't loosen his hold.

"I asked you a question. Have you been here all weekend fucking him while I'm in bed alone?"

At this, I shake my head, "he just got here today, Jason. I swear." He lets go of my face with a shove and I stumble, almost losing my balance.

"How did you find where we were staying?"

He laughs again. "I went by the office and Sharon gave me the address of where y'all were staying so I could send flowers. Or so she believed. I knew something was off so I lied to get the address. Now pack your shit. We're leaving."

I look at him and shake my head.

He laughs, "No? Are you telling me no? You don't have a choice, Madelyn. If you plan on coming back into my home with my children, you will pack your fucking bags and get your ass in my car. Because I'll be damned if I leave you here with that playboy so he can use your pussy for his personal fuckfest this week."

I cower back as he laughs.

Raising his voice and taking a step towards me, he grabs my arm and pulls me toward him, "don't insult me, you fucking slut."
