FRIDAY, FREE PRACTISE DAY, SILVERSTONE
His veiny hands applied pressure and brought our bodies together more than necessary, his minty scent invaded my nostrils like a drug, and his hazel eyes stared down, peering down at me with a hard but sweet gaze. Our breaths intertwined and our heartbeats aligned, our mouths were too close, more than necessary
"Lils..." he moaned hoarsely
"No!" I thought to myself when I woke up from that dream, or rather nightmare, what the hell? I turned to my phone which I had placed on the bedside table next to the bed, I checked the time, it was almost 6am, in fact from the windows you could already see the sun starting to rise and illuminate London in all its beauty. A few days had passed since Carlos and I had talked in the hotel balcony, and I continued to dream of the scene in all its facets. I could not do it anymore. I checked my Instagram and WhatsApp notifications for a while longer in bed, while Lando was still in dreamland. After a few minutes I got up and went to the bathroom to fix my hair and face, I definitely needed it, I didn't want Lando to get scared first thing in the morning.
That day there would be free practice at Silverstone, so we would have to see how the car and tires would adapt to this circuit and we would have to start evaluating the best strategies, my role was fundamental, being Max's engineer, also I hadn't seen him for almost a week. So I washed my face, did my skincare and put on makeup with a little mascara and lipgloss, as usual, and tied my hair in a high ponytail, letting two strands fall into my face. When I returned to the room, I saw that Lando was still sleeping, lucky me, I hadn't slept so peacefully in a long time. So I checked the messages on the Redbull group
"Guys, meeting today before free practice for the usual pre-race speech, I want you all in the pits at 10:30, come on time"
said Horner's message, we all replied with an ok, and then I wrote to Max that we would meet in the pits at 10.00, just to talk.
"Good morning, beautiful girl" Lando said to me in a whisper and with his eyes half open
"Good morning babe, how are you, did you sleep well?" I asked him
"Mhh, yes, like a child, how long have you been awake?" he asked me
"No recently, I had to go to the bathroom, come on now wake up, we'll be back on track today!" I told him jokingly
"Ahh yes, I'm super excited for the grand prix, also because it's my home one" he replied with a smile as he was waking up
"Well I'm ordering breakfast, what do you want?" I asked him
"Um, a croissant, a coffee and a juice, I'll be right there, I'll go to the bathroom for a moment" he replied, reluctantly getting out of bed to go to the bathroom.
I ordered breakfast for me and Lando, and it arrived in the room after about ten minutes, in the end I also ordered a croissant, a cappuccino and a juice.
"So what are you doing today?" Lando asked me as he started to eat breakfast
"Well I have to get moving because we have a meeting with Horner at 10.30, but I wanted to get to the paddock by 10 to talk a bit with Max, we haven't seen each other for a week, I miss him, you?" I asked him
"I also have to go to the paddock quite soon, Zak called me and Oscar for a small meeting, let's hope it's nothing important" he replied
"Anyway, do you want me to accompany you to the paddock?" he asked me
"Um, actually I was thinking of going there on my motorbike" I replied
"But, it's not a problem for me, come on come in the car with me" Lando told me
