Song of the chapter: Elastic Heart by SIA.
🎹And now that i can't survive
I walk through fire to save my life
🎚️
You did not break me
I'm still finding my peace...🎧
"This should be reported" the nurse stated while cleaning the cut she sustained on her palm which she got probably when she was struggling.
"To who?" Faramade while staring at the fragile human laying unconscious on one of the single beds in the school clinic.
"The school authorities of course!" She scoffed in annoyance " who else? This is not the first or second time she would come here sustaining injuries from bullying"
"And do you know who these bullies are?" She gave me a look "Celine Nnaji, Akeju Balogun, Zara Ahmad..." He continued to list and her face fell at the names of the powerful rich kids he listed. "And if i could remember, one of the students i just listed, her father funded the buying of up to date equipment of the school clinic and also is responsible for your pay"
Her face fell and it shifts to nothing but remorse as she stared at Omotolani.
"But this is wrong..."
Faramade said nothing. He just want her to be okay. He was scared with the way she reacted this morning. She was practically freaking out and had a terrible break down.
Whatever she went through definitely shook her up. He glared at the remains of her hair and the swelling on her cheek.
If he should catch anyone of them....
After the treatment, the nurse gave him some pills which contained some painkillers which she was to use when she wakes up.
Leaving the two. He took a seat beside her on the bed. He had removed the wet school blazer from her body when he had brought her in. Her hair or what was left of it were all mangled up.
Tracing a single line uider her pointy nose, he sighed shaking his head. Placing the cover over her body to keep her warm, he sat back down watching her breathing fall and rise.
The door to the room opened and his jaw clenched in anger at the sight of the person in front of him.
"What's going on?" Akorede asked no one in particular as he walked in in his collected manner like always. He stopped short at the sight of Omotolani on the sick bed and his eyes went wide in shock.
He stared with wide eyes as he walked at a first pace towards her only to be stopped by Faramade.
"Leave her to rest... I think you have done enough" Faramade demanded leaving no room for arguments. Akorede frowned at his friend due to the sudden protectiveness and anger coming from him due to his posture and body language.
"What is the meaning of this? Do you know who she is to me?" He asked with narrowed eyes but Faramade will not hear of it.
"I don't. I honestly don't. Because if she meant something to you, you wouldn't act the way you acted towards her"
"What's going on between us is none of your business..." Akorede snarled due to frustration of what was going on.
"Well it is because she is my friend!" Faramade screamed at his face causing him to do a double take.
"What's suddenly gotten into you?... Where is all this coming from?"
"Out! The two of you!" Theresa ordered as she stormed into the room.
"Theresa-"
"Not a word from you two... Since you can't act like civilized humans and decided to scream at each other faces like barbarians, you can take your screaming contest out"
