Chapter 13: listening

"I promise Ella."

Ella POV

This night was strange but so comfortable. He hugged me, my heart lost a beat but I was so happy.
When I woke up after everyone.
Everyone were together except Riki. I couldn't see him.
I went towards the teacher.

"Have you seen Riki?"

"No I haven't seen him but he sent me a message saying he had to leave urgently the school trip. "

"What?" I asked confused

"He left, I said."

"I need to see him."

"You're not going to die , you'll see him when you get home at the end of the day."

"I can't wait."

"Listen Ella, you may be worried about him, but we can't leave now. You have to wait or go off on your own."

There was nothing I could do, leaving now would be too difficult because we're too far away.
I decided to wait.

It was the end of the day and we took the bus for the road.
It was 6 pm. We arrived at the school, and the teachers let us go.

I ran towards his house, nobody.
I ran towards his agency. People didn't let me in.
But Jungwon saw me and came towards me.

"Ella? Why are you here, at this hour?" he asked me.

"I'm looking for Riki, he left the trip without telling me."

"He must be with the manager. I don't know If I can let you in , I don't have the right."

"Please Jungwon."

"Come in, quick."

I went in the agency and stayed with jungwon.

"You're too kind to me Jungwon, thank you so much."

"It's okay. Give me your number. So if you have problems you can call me too. I'll help you."

I gave him my phone. He was so kind with me. I trusted him.

"Where is the manager's office ?" I asked

"Go upstairs and you'll find it easily."

"Thank you Jungwon."

I went upstairs and I arrived at a room with the door ajar where I could see Riki. When I was trying to open the door I heard someone arguing with him. I couldn't do anything else than listening to them .

"You must stop seeing that girl. She's going to destroy everything you've built."

"She didn't do anything wrong, she is my friend."

"You must stop Riki. It's for your sake."

"No. I don't want to stop anything."

"You stop seeing her or I'll break your contract! "

"What? Seriously?"

"I'm totally serious."

Listening to that conversation broke my heart. I ran away. I wanted to get out of there right now.
I couldn't stop crying. It destroyed me.

I ran and I passed Jake in the corridor. He was looking at me in surprise. I didn't know if he know me or not.
He stared at me running outside.

I arrived outside the agency . I started running towards the streets to get back home. But the road in front of the agency was crowned by cars. I had to dodge them to get through. The light for pedestrians was red , but I thought I could get through without any problems. Suddenly I heard a horn, a noise that was rapidly approaching me.
I stopped running and looked in the direction of the noise . A huge lorry was coming towards me fast.
I was stunned.
I couldn't move.
The lorry kept going without slowing down.

BOM

I suffocated. Heavily. My breath was so hard. I was lying down on the floor. I felt something liquid and warm fall and spread out on the ground. It mixed with my hair. I touched the liquid and I saw that it was blood. I was bleeding .

I tried to looked at around me, I tried to move . Nothing. It was impossible. I couldn't do anything.
My vision was starting to blur.

"Riki..."
I could hear people screaming and asking me questions. They looked like shadows. Shadows dancing in the night with the reflection of the moon in their eyes.
It was funny .
Everything was strange. I couldn't feel my body anymore . I couldn't hear anything anymore. I could think about one thing : Riki.

"Riki..."I repeated strengthless.

I breathed hard.
I couldn't feel my body or hear anything now. I couldn't see anymore.
Everything was black. Everything was empty. It was sad now.
I couldn't think about anything.

"I ..-"

I was dying.
