(Tegan's POV)
We had played through 'Tripping Over Air' and 'Never Be' and were going to play the rest of our set. That consisted of 'Mercy' and 'Somebody To You' and this was our first time playing both songs live.
"Okay you guys, we have two new songs for you tonight, and we will be real with you guys, this is our first time ever playing these songs for an audience. I don't know about the boys, but I'm super excited!" I said to the crowd. "This first one is called Mercy, and it's one of the first songs I wrote completely on my own, and I think you all are going to like it."

It felt good to finally put this song out there after writing it and keeping it really to myself. I don't know if my mom and sister put two and two together about the meaning behind the song, but it didn't matter to much.
