Cheyanne's POV
I froze in my corner. Was this a joke? Or was he being serious?
"The story....what you told me..was all a lie?" I stammered. "All you wanted was to capture us this entire time?"
I felt..heartbroken. All of this was to- to what? To kill me? It couldn't be! I-I was so sure that everything would turn for the better. I thought almost all evil had passed. But let's face it- Golden Freddy was right. I should've never trusted him.
"It's not what it looks. Let me explain. Please," Springtrap begged. I needed to know the truth. I needed it now.
"Go ahead," I replied, narrowing my eyes and crossing my arms.
"Okay so, the story I just told you is true. I swear. That's exactly why I want you to stay. I want to spend more time with you, I want to finally get to know you," Springtrap explained. "It's been so long- I just don't want you to leave yet."
At least it wasn't what I thought. "Why can't we just come back instead of being held against our will?" I snapped.
Springtrap looked at me regretfully. "Because if you leave I'm afraid that you won't ever come back," he said sadly.
I uncrossed my arms, feeling guilty. "Of course we would come back. We're family; aren't we? I wouldn't up and leave you guys like that. Though...I don't know, this all still seems really weird." I stepped closer to Springtrap.
"After all, you've been trying to kill me or whatever. I don't know if I can exactly trust you after that. Especially after keeping us here like this," I added. Springtrap stared at the floor as I spoke, undecided.
"So I promise you, if you let us leave, we will come back. Right, Golden?"
Golden Freddy nodded, slowly, being wary of the hook against his throat. We waited for Springtrap's answer.
"I-I'm sorry," Springtrap said. "But I still can't let you go. It's not that I don't trust you but..." he trailed off. He shook his head and instead of finishing that sentence, said, "Why don't you go off and explore? You can be set free as long as you don't try to do anything funny." The second sentence was meant for Golden Freddy. Golden Freddy stared at Springtrap with a look of disgust and didn't say anything.
"Alright, actually, Mangle watch him," Springtrap said, seeing that look. Mangle nodded and held her spot, keeping Golden Freddy in place. Mangle didn't even have to try that hard to keep him there; he looked pretty much defeated. Maybe because he was sad that his own brother was keeping us locked up here, or that he regretted letting me come here, I don't know.
I was about to take Springtrap's advice to explore and find a way to escape on the side, but then I saw Gizzmo whisper something to Springtrap, May right beside him. Springtrap nodded and the three of them went into the hallway.
I was interested in what they were doing but I didn't want to follow them in fear of being caught trying to eavesdrop. Instead, I flashed Golden Freddy a determined but helpless look, hopefully reassuring him that I'd find a way out of this. Then I went into that smaller room on the left that cut off from this main room. Making sure not to take too long, I looked around. In one corner, there were three cardboard boxes wrapped in gift wrap to look like presents. They were stacked with two on the bottom and one on top.
Other than that, there wasn't much more in the room. Some decorative, old party strings on the walls, but that was it. I realized that I was getting too wrapped up with exploring, and almost forgot about May, Gizzmo, and Springtrap. I promptly left the room, trying to look like that I wasn't in a rush. I passed Golden Freddy and Mangle without so much as a glance. Once I entered the hallway, I picked up the pace. It was about 7 feet long and there were two bathrooms on the side, one for boys and one for girls. I ignored those bathrooms, for now, trying to find Springtrap, Gizzmo, and May before I missed anything.
