Luther began the construction of the portal; he needed various materials, including obsidian glass and uranium. These were not very common materials, but nonetheless, he went to ask Hektor. Hektor denied the existence of such materials in his warehouses and suggested Luther speak with the town's blacksmith to see if he had those materials.
Luther grabbed an imperial falcon, larger than a normal one, and went to the town. He descended in the central market square where he spotted a group of young people with several elephants. He was surprised to see them so far from home but didn't pay them much attention. The town's blacksmith only had glass, no uranium. He filled the creature's storage compartments with the material and returned to the island. He unloaded the glass and before departing, asked Hektor for the location of the uranium mines in the area. Hektor indicated that there was only one mine left because nobody needed uranium anymore
