Viktor had arranged to meet Lua to go with the kids to the amphitheater to watch his father's new play: 'Santa is Not Available.' This activity served Viktor as an escape from his problems. He had been listening to his father talking about his play for months and wanted to go see it to confirm what everyone claimed or refute that the play was as good as they said.
Lua was waiting for me at the entrance of my house; before going to the amphitheater, we were going to pick up the rest of the kids. She was loaded with a portable cooler where, as she told me, she had a bit of nectar with liquid honey, a delicious and very exclusive drink because the honey came from a hive that exclusively pollinated the flowers of the Lake of Happiness. She said her mother insisted she bring the drink because the play lasted a couple of suns.First, we went to Álvaro's house. He was waiting for us at his doorstep, a tall guy with such long helmet-like hair that it was sometimes difficult to see where he was looking. He was one of my best friends. He attended a different class than me because in the tenth grade, we had separated into different classes, and we hadn't coincided in class for two years, but that hadn't stopped our friendship. After picking him up, we went for Pedro, or as I call him, Peter, my best friend, a tall guy with blond hair with brown highlights. I had met him in the ninth grade, although he had also separated, and now he attended Álvaro's class. Finally, we went for Santi, a tall guy who was in the same class as me, a good guy, a bit shy, deeply in love with a singer whose songs you could hear him singing everywhere. After the group was complete, we finally went to the amphitheater, which was at the end of the street. It was enormous, almost touching the dome that covered the entire city, a protective security shield, transparent but occasionally tinted with some color so that citizens could see that we remained safe. The amphitheater had cubicles for spectators; we had row two hundred fifty. The entrance was located at the top, in row three hundred, so thanks to the express boots, we quickly descended to our cubicle, reserved and equipped with enough space for five people."Do you all see well from here?" I asked."More or less," Alvaro and Pedro replied."With this button, the 3D screen of what's happening on stage activates. Look, but first, you need to put on the virtual glasses," I explained. The five put on the glasses and quickly could see the entire stage, even the actors backstage."Can everyone see the actors behind the curtain?" Lua asked."No, only us, privileges of having the play director as a father," I said with a smile."Thank you very much, this is going to be fun," Santiago replied, and the rest nodded. The play was about a pack of wolves that had gone several weeks without being able to eat; snow covered their prey, and since they couldn't cover their tracks, they had already suffered some losses due to hunters, as they were easier to detect. The pack arrived at a village, composed of several wooden houses with a chimney located in the center of each. They went from house to house, asking for any leftover pieces of meat or bones, but no one gave them anything. The pack continued on to the next village, where even before they could enter, there were several hunters with shotguns threatening death if they dared to enter their village. The pack had no choice but to keep walking, hoping to find some kind soul to feed them or give them a place to sleep as they had been sleepless for several days. After several days of walking, they saw a quite large house in the distance, next to a stable, and they thought that was their lucky day. Upon arrival, they saw through a window a family having dinner. Suddenly, the youngest wolf cub fell to the ground due to hunger and exhaustion. One of the adults of the pack grabbed it by the scruff of its neck and left it at the entrance of that house, hoping that the humans would see it and feed it out of compassion, and that's what happened. A man with a very voluminous belly and dressed in a full-body red suit opened the door and, upon seeing the wolf cub, felt pity and called his wife, a petite woman also dressed in a red suit."Darling, what should we do with him?" asked the man."Let me see, I think we have some food for him," said the woman."And what about the rest of the pack?" asked the man."Check if they have been good, and then you'll know what to do," said the woman happily. The man took out a camera where, upon taking a photo of any being, it told you if they had behaved well or not. He took a picture of the cub, and the result was that it had been a very good being that year and as such deserved its Christmas gift. The man picked up a handful of snow from the ground, and from his hands emerged a very bright beam of light, momentarily blinding those present. Once it was over, the pack could see how a pork chop with a bone in the middle appeared from his hands. The woman put the cub on the ground, and the man placed the chop in front of its snout. After several seconds of waiting, the wolf cub reacted and quickly ate the chop. The man introduced himself as Santa Claus, and the woman as Mrs. Claus. The woman started taking pictures of the wolves while the man quickly started making meat pieces for the entire pack. They offered them to sleep in the now-empty stable. After several weeks, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus offered them the opportunity to help them in delivering gifts around the world. The pack nodded in agreement. Mrs. Claus spoke to them."Before that, I want to tell you that to help us, I need to transform you into a slightly more docile animal. Do you accept?" asked the man.The pack coordinated to nod, and the woman offered them some muffins."These magical buns will transform you into reindeer, strong animals with a great horned rack," explained the woman. After several minutes where one by one they transformed, the nine reindeer appeared. The wolf cub had a complication; its red wolf nose didn't transform, but it didn't hinder Santa Claus.Santa Claus showed them his sleigh and arranged them, four on each side and the cub in the middle. With some magical words, the sleigh began to levitate, and the man named each one of them."Thunder, Lightning, Playful, Cupid, Comet, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Rudolph, lead the way!" said the man.The nine reindeer along with the sleigh flew across the sky until they disappeared into the horizon
