Arlen's POV

I guess by the title, you must have understood that I may have done some mischief. But you can't be sure of that because I haven't said anything about it.

No, you're completely sure? Good, you're smart like me!

I knew that Elmery sang better then me, Selon mentioned it a lot when we used to play at our building. She used to be like, "You know Elmery, right?"

"Yes, this is the 50th time you've mentioned her."

"Well apparently, she participated in one of those high level singing competitions and got first among 900 people!"

"Really? That's unbelievable! She must be very talented," I said, intrigued. Great! Now I don't have to hire a singer for my wedding, since an amazing one is already the bride's best friend!

That was my thought process before, I am not getting married to Selon. Well I still like her, duh. But not as much as I did back then, I used to really look up to her. Now, I can handle every problem that comes to me on my own. I don't need anybody to rely on, especially if it's a girl. [Boys these days. Make me sick.]

Anyway, I knew I wasn't going to be able to defeat her. So, I decided to play a little. *insert evil laughter*

As smart as you and I are, I'm sure you know I'm going to be messing with her keyboard. I play better then her, but still her voice could beat even my playing. So if I mess up the pitch of her keyboard, surely she will go off as well. Finally, the mics, I'm just going to put the volume of all the mics to a maximum and see if the judges would even want to listen to her performance. Well if there is something else disturbing the plan, I might have to just go with it. I'm too smart, I know people!

On the day of the performance, I was with Elmery walking in the area. I hope I didn't look weird, because walking with a girl alone could raise a few eyebrows. But, I let it slide. "So," I started, "Are you excited? We both will be experiencing this for the first time!"

"Who said this was my first time here?"

"I-it isn't?"

"Nope"

Well, it's my second time here actually. I meant, as in together! N-not t-that way-"

"It's ok, I understood buddy. This is my fifth time here, I have been doing this since I learned how to walk."

"T-that long?!" Busted.

"Yup, I'm not exaggerating. It's true, this event only happens every two years. And I've always won in my category," she said, "They are serving lunch, come let's go eat." She started walking faster, "Hey! Wait up!" I shouted.

Ok, this is going to be difficult. I might have to add a few extra effects, like maybe changing the sound of her voice completely? Yup, that's good.

They served cheeseburgers, fries and a drink. All from McDonalds, it looked so good! Elmery though, didn't look too happy about it.

"Ew, cheeseburgers?" she grimaced, "Normally they give soup and tea to clear up the throat! What is this nonsense?" she grumbled.

"You should be happy that we're getting food, you're so ungrateful," I made tsk tsk sound and started eating my food.

"I didn't mean it like that...whatever" she muttered.

"So, how was your day? Do you think you'll win?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.

"Good and yes, I know it. I believe in myself, as long as some super super talented person just shows abruptly. Then, ya I might get second,"

"How about third?"
