Elmery's POV

"Ah!!!!!" A girl came rushing into the class, "Basketball tryouts got cancelled! We have to wait another day now!" she whined. Everybody stared at her like she was crazy, and then started throwing insults saying that she frightened them blah blah blah. I really felt like giving her two punches square at the jaw for interrupting Arlen for what he was going to say.

He was going to apologize, right? Ya, right.

I wanted one, for what he did, but looking at his face I think his confidence crumbled and turned to dust. "So? What were you going to say?" I asked, "Nothing, I have to go to the bathroom now." He got up and started walking, I gritted my teeth and followed him. He stopped mid way and bumped into me, "Ow!"

"Why are you following me?"

"I need to go to the bathroom too!"

"Ok, chill. Don't pounce on me," I followed him till the girl's bathroom, until he stopped again in front of the bathroom. "Now what?!" I grumbled.

"I-I need to tell you...Oh shit!" He pulled me into the girl's bathroom locked the door from behind, he pushed the table towards the door for a better lock. His back was against the wall and he was panting hard.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"M-man....with gun....going to the staff room.." My eyes widened, I stood next to him. His breath turned shallow, he was scared to death. I picked up the chair with my extremely strong hands and put it on top of the table, I stood next to him, grabbed his hand and started rubbing circles on his palm. "Shh.....it's okay, we'll get out of here....he won't kill anyone....he won't harm you...." I assured him, he breaths slowly turned normal, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He looked at me with concern in his eyes, "How are you so calm right now?"

"I'm not, it's human nature to do this while someone is going to have a panic attack,"

"I wasn't going to have a panic attack, I was just in a state of...panic," he said. "Elmery..I'm sorry. should not have done that, I know how much the competition meant too you. I ruined it for you because of my arrogance. Will you please forgive me?"

I rolled my eyes, I laced my fingers with his. He blushed, "Elmery what are you-"

"Shut up. This helps me calm down," I said, a tint of red could be noticed on my cheeks, because he raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure it just helps you calm down? Or are you interested in me~?"

I threw his hand away, "Stop flirting, we are literally in a life or death situation right now."

"Ya I know I'm just trying to lighten up the mood, you were ignoring me for the past week and now you're suddenly holding my hand-"

"It helps me calm down!"

Ok, I said that a little too loudly. Someone banged on the door, "Hello! Is anyone there? Open the door!" He stopped for a second before saying, "I mean...I am your teacher! Please open the door?" He tried to imitate a female voice but failed miserably, I had the urge to face palm. Instead I put my finger to my lips, Arlen seemed to get the message.

"Dears~ I know you are in there! Please open the door? The bad guys are gone!" he said.

Did he think we were kids? It was clearly said near the classrooms, '8th grade'. This guy really needs to learn how to see, or maybe get his brain checked, it needed a little fixing. Arlen put a finger near his head, I nodded. He was mad and insane.

"I won't say this one more time!" His voice returned to normal, "Open the door or I'll push it open!" Lets see how he is going to open it with the table and the chair, I scoffed.
