Elmery's POV

I forgave him, it was the best thing to do.

I'm known to keep a grudge against people, especially my brother. But the way Arlen was, the way he talked, his intellect and overall self was quite enduring. I couldn't help thinking about him as I studied. My ADD kept me like this, I smiled to myself remembering when I grabbed his hand in the bathroom. I blushed, thinking about it was about to make me giggle when I slapped myself across the face.

Study. Exams are next week, stop thinking about Arlen!

I had to admit, I was thinking a lot about him lately.

It's quite annoying, whenever I'm studying Chemistry, I start to think- Wow, don't you remember that time when he taught you Chemical Balancing? So embarrassing! Or whenever I see a short guy with glasses I'm like- Oh man, that guy reminds me of Arlen... I don't know why I'm he keeps popping up in my head but it's quite annoying.

"Elmery!" My mother yelled, "Stop daydreaming and actually study for once! Even the dumbest kids in your class study before their exams! Can't you do that at least once?" She taunted. I rolled my eyes and frowned, "Don't make that stupid face! You look even more ugly when you do it!" She scoffed before going back to the kitchen.

No wonder I'm ugly, look where I got it from.

I wouldn't dare say it, I would be mashed potatoes if I did. But I did listen her and tried to concentrate on what I was studying. Because, if I got less than an A grade I would not just be mashed potatoes- but also kicked out of the house in the process.

"I'm home!" My brother was on his phone, he didn't even look up from it. He was busy smiling, biting his lip and texting something. "Who are you talking to?" I asked, "That, is none of your business. Study for once, when I was in eighth grade I used to be first in my class!" he bragged.

"And that is because of my nagging," My mother walked into the living room with a plate in her hand and sat down to eat, "If I didn't help you, you wouldn't even be going to college." I laughed, my brother rolled his eyes and went to his room. I finally got the motivation to study, even though I really didn't want to.

***

The next day I actually stayed awake for once, because I really wanted to talk to Arlen about something. But instead of him, Selon walked in and told me Arlen had gone out to meet some relatives. I was really bummed out because of that, Selon noticed and asked, "Why the sad expression?" I quickly opened my textbook and flipped through the pages, "Oh nothing, I just-I just wanted to ask him something about- about Chemistry! I-I really don't understand one of the concepts and I really need his help with it," I explained, "I seriously suck at Chemistry-"

"Ok, I got the point. I was just asking," Selon said, "Anyway, do you know about the new anime that's come out?"

That got my attention, "Really? What it's name?"

"I don't know, but-"

"Stop talking!" The teacher banged the duster on the table, I flinched. I thought she was talking to us, but I followed her eyes and found that she was looking at Dax and Vanny. Dax started apologizing but the teacher cut him short, "Vanny go sit with-" She scanned the classroom, "Dional get up from there." Dional got up without saying a word and Vanny sat next to me. I didn't really have a problem, but it felt weird to be sitting beside someone who I don't know that well.

Selon decided that it was best not to talk to me because she really didn't want to sit with some random guy. So I struck a conversation with Vanny, "So, what were you and Dax talking about so much?" I asked with a light chuckle.
