15] The Daily Life of Arlen D'Silvia

Hey there.

You must be wondering who I am, I'm that person who appears in all the chapters in bold letters.

Elmery and Arlen may have fallen for one and another, Elmery still not realizing it however. But what were their lives like before they liked each other?

Arlen's POV

School is useless.

But I love it, or maybe not.

I have a comfortable life, a good brain, lots of friends and a good family. The only disadvantage is my reputation, I'm known as the troublemaker nerd whose is disgusting and no girl looks at me.

Ya, life pretty much sucks at this point.

I'll give you a few experiences of mine which define the kind of person I am. There is no timeline by the way, it's just random thoughts in random years. Here is one:-

Fifth grade

I saw Vanny sitting alone at the last bench, I sat down next to him, "Hey! Are you coming to play today?"

"Yep."

"So, did you want to come to school?"

"No, but I think this Covid disease is spreading. I think we may not have school for a few days."

"You think so?"

"Ya...And wearing these masks are bummer too...I can't see her face..."

I raised an eyebrow, "Her? OH! Who is the girl?"

"Shut up! Don't say it so loudly!" He glared at me.

I gave him a smirk, "What's her name?"

"Elmery..."

"Oh."

I thought he liked Selon, for two reasons, one: They both are best friends, and two: He is looking in her direction. I was actually relieved for some reason. So it's not really love triangle anymore, but now a rectangle. I like Selon, Selon likes Vanny and Vanny likes Elmery.

Wow, good riddance.

I didn't really care about all this stuff, but it made kind of curious. Who does Elmery like? 

I decided to tease him a little by calling her name, "Elmery!"

She looked behind and frowned, Vanny swatted my arm, "Shut up dude! You're the worst!"

Elmery rolled her eyes and continued her conversation with Selon, like this was just an inconvenience in her life.

I never really payed attention to her after that, at that time, to me she was like any random person I see everyday.

Classes got over and it was break time. I got my lunch box out and revealed the beautiful chicken nuggets, they were my favorite food. So, I asked my mom to make it every Monday and she agreed. 

Vanny saw the tiffin and smirked, he reached out to grab one but I instantly pulled away, "I told you already, anything else but chicken nuggets!"  He frowned, "Uh, fine. Eat it already!" 

I laughed, "Ya, sure."

Before I started eating, Vanny got up and went to the door to greet his friends.

I already warned him about them, they lived in our building and they were one heck of bullies. If there was a conference meeting about bullying, everybody would be looking at them. Sucks they were in the same school. Now I have to deal with them even here! Vanny looked uncomfortable while talking to them, he told me that school anyway was going to end in a few days because our exams are approaching, so he decided to put up with them till then. 

I did the same mistake I always did, I walked towards them, started making small talk, and getting abuses from them. Apparently I wasn't up to their level, because of my short, skinny body, glasses, too good in my academics. I was the 'typical nerd' for them, they would spread rumors about me in school that I am pervert or that I still pee my pants or what not. Or maybe that I like this girl or that girl and they would come to me the next day and be like 'I'm sorry, I don't like you that way...' or 'I'm not interested in an ugly guy like you!' blah, blah, blah. I'm sick of it!

Today though, was a little different.

"Hey, can I have a nugget?" One of them asked, "I'm sorry, but there is only one left..." I replied sadly. "So? I'll eat that one!"  He tried to grab it, but I pushed him away. "I already told you, I don't share my nuggets!"

The whole class was looking at us, some people from outside were peeping from their classes. The guy glared at me and pushed me to the ground, my tiffin fell of my hand spilling all my nuggets onto the floor.

"I thought you said only one was left?"

"I wanted all of them!"

"You greedy idiot."

He kicked me on my stomach and I coughed. The worse part though, Vanny wasn't even doing anything. He was just talking to the others like nothing was happening in front of him. 

"Vanny, help!"

He just looked at me and rolled his eyes, he went back to talking to them and laughed.

At that moment, I felt betrayed. I didn't give up after that though, every time those guys ever bullied me, I would call Vanny's name. Even though I knew there would be no response, I cried for help, pleading, for him to come help me but, help never came. I stopped talking to him after that, I didn't sit with him, I didn't even look at him. I was a loner, nobody liked me. I could hear everybody talking about me behind my back because of those rumors. So I can conclude by saying:-

The pandemic was a blessing for me.

The second one happened recently and it was very embarrassing...

It was a normal afternoon at school, I was doing my work peacefully. I was surrounded by a bunch of girls because Dional decided to switch his place for the period. I don't why, but ever since Elmery came into my life, girls started swarming around me like bees. Before it was completely the opposite.

I was talking to Elmery, sorry arguing with Elmery about something silly, when I suddenly sneezed.

Ya, I sneezed right on her face.

Well it wasn't my fault she was sticking to my face like glue! Ok that came out wrong, well it wasn't my fault she was hovering around my face! Ok, you know what? Forget it.

She closed her eyes for a second before wiping her face furiously with sleeve. She started whining like a crazy person and rushed to the bathroom to wash it off. The girl sitting next to her also decided it was a good time to go back to her place, Selon went with her. Elmery came back and looked at her empty seat.

"Where are Ann and Selon?" she asked.

I smiled sheepishly, "They ran away..."

Elmery laughed and my heart skipped a beat, "I guess it's just the two of us then!" 

I'll admit it, I enjoy talking to Elmery alone. When it's just the two of us, I like to flirt with her from time to time. She gets all shy, and it's adorable to look at!

Ya, I'm falling for her, HARD.
