Chapter XVIII - Aboard The Posiedon's Storm
Dian
There was something about being aboard a ship that was peaceful, and whole another that was just unsettling. Like the fact that anything could go wrong, and that the crew ran wild with their duties. It was a mad house.
The ocean crashed against the side of the ship, rocking it back and forth. The faey payed it no attention, like it was something they were all use too. Which they might be, but Dian was not. Stumbling and falling as if she was intoxicated.
"You may just want to sit down," Gyrin pointed out, grabbing hold to her arm.
She listened too him and sat on the deck, hoping that they wouldn't get stepped on by one of the crew members."This is a pretty amazing isn't it?" Gyrin asked. The sun was shinning down on the water, making it shimmer with light.
"I guess it is," Dian says. The weight of things from the pass few days was weighing her down. She was filling sick from the constant shifting of the ship.
"I think I'm going to go find a place to sleep." She got up, even though she had just sat down. She really did feel green, and wasn't ready to ignore Anthony's death completely just yet. Tomorrow she would wake up and move on with her life, she had too.
The Headquaters entrance was unlocked. Inside, things swayed hanging on the walls, nets, pictures, weapons and everything else imaginable. It was nice inside though, the wind was no longer beating around her and the sun glaring down.
"Captain?" She called and stepped in. It was a hallway with two closed doors, though it opened up at the end. To the right was a set of stairs that had to have lead down to the cargo hold, sleeping quarters or both, to the left was a office type thing.
"What am I suppose to do with the girl exactly?" She could hear the unfamiliar gruff voice ask. She could only guess this wasn't a human like creature, it had the hint of animal in it like Aatu's had.
She crept closer to the door, listening intently.
"Watch her. She isn't capable of much at this moment. Goddess sakes, her brother just died, a hero of Lacelin had passed, of course she isn't doing well. I need you to change that." That was obviously the Captain.
"She's just a child. This place is breaking her," that voice had been female and sweet like wildflowers, Ruza.
"I know, and I'm expecting you to care for her too. She may have a easier time warming up to you."
"Of course I will."
Feeling as if the discussion was over, and that she had heard a bit more than she had intended, she knocked twice on the door.
It took a moment for it to open, the Captain had answered. Behind him was Ruza, she couldn't see who was the third person though. "Dian, can I help you?"
"Is there a place that I can sleep?" Dian asked, feeling small under the Captain's gaze.
He turned to Ruza, but before he could even ask her too, she had shifted and floated pass him. "Yes there is! You're belongings are already in there, just follow me." She gave a reassuring smile.
"Ah, okay." Dian hadn't even remembered losing track of her stuff, most importantly Owen's book.
She followed Ruza back down the hallway, watched her open one of the doors with a gush of wind and went inside."This was suppose to be my room, but I'm never in here sense I don't sleep. This is yours now," Ruza explained.
The room was nice. A window brightened the room, a decent size bed with covers and everything sat in the corner, along with a wardrob and a desk. Her book sat on the top of it.
