George POV
I drove the car while Ashley sat beside me, Lando and Alex were at the back. "Me, Max, and Alex are going to play paddle tomorrow. Are you guys joining?" Lando asked.
"I have to work with the team," I said.
"Sussie wanted to have a meeting with me tomorrow. I don't think I can come. I want to though" Ash said.
"And why is your Boss's wife want to meet her?" Lando asked me. "I wouldn't know even if my Boss wants to meet her. She is an adopted daughter to them" I said.
"As if you are not" she snaked at me. "No, I'm not. Have you seen the way he talks with me and the way he talks with you"
"That's because I'm a good girl"
"So, I'm the bad boy now"
"Of course, you are the bad British boy going all 'Blimey' and 'Crikey' on the radio"
"What do you mean by that?"
"You both are not coming to play with us tomorrow," Alex said. Ash turned around and looked at him while I looked via the mirror.
"Alright Alex is gonna stay with me. Drop us off at my hotel" Lando said. I nodded. There was silence just for a few seconds as I pulled in front of Lando's hotel. Both the boys jumped out.
"They are having a Boy's night. Should Lily be worried?" Ash teased Alex for which he flicked his finger on her head.
"Ouch," She said rubbing the spot. "Alright, night guys," I said. We said our goodbyes and I drove the car.
She noticed the time on her watch. "George, that's late. You cannot go back around to your hotel again" She said.
"No, it's fine. I'll be fine" I said.
"No. it's nearly 2 in the morning. You can stay with me. I have a big comfy couch" She said.
"Ash, I don't think-"
"Couch!" she said putting her finger up. "Alright," I said.
We drove for a few more minutes. Her hotel was located at a distance. She always chose hotels like that so that she could drive to the circuits during race weekends. There was silence for a long time. I was focused on driving. It was indeed late.
I noticed her head falling on the window frame and knew she had fallen asleep. I slowed down the car a bit so that she didn't feel the bumps.
I drove for another 10 minutes and reached her hotel. I parked the car and switched it off. I turned around and looked at her sleeping peacefully. She was tired. Lewis made her talk to everyone cause he knew that those sponsors were important to her.
I slowly shook her. "Ash" I whispered. She stirred slightly and her hair fell on her face. "Hey, Ashey..We are here. Come on now" I said softly. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Man, how do you drive like that? I felt like I was on my bed back home" she said. I smiled at her as we got outside the car.
We entered the elevator and she pressed onto her floor. She gave out a sigh as the doors closed and leaned against the wall.
"My heels are killing me," She said in a pained tone. "For what's worth it. You looked lovely today" I said. She looked at me in silence for a second.
"I didn't know I could pull it off," she said.
"You can," I said. The door opened and we reached her room.
She opened it and we entered it. "It could be a mess. I apologize beforehand. I think I have some Merc Tees. You can change into them" she said.
"Ash, this place looks like a crystal," I said looking around not finding one thing out of place.
"You sure you okay with the couch, I can-"
"No. The couch is mine. You sleep on the bed. Your bed" I said strictly. She gave out a smile and ruffled my hair a little.
"Alright, here it is," she said getting a T-shirt from the cupboard. "Go on get changed," she said.
"Thank you," I said taking it from her hand. She went in front of the mirror removing her earring while I took the bathroom to change.
I changed into comfy clothes and walked outside. "Hey Ash, Looks like I'm gonna-"
I noticed she was already on her bed asleep. A smile formed on my face. I went towards her and sat on her leg.
I took her legs on mine and removed her heels. Those were tight around her heel and there were reddened marks on them. I slowly massaged her feet and could see that she relaxed a bit. Those must have been painful.
I took a duvet and covered her with it. She had he hair fall all over her face which I pushed aside and tucked behind her hair.
I have known her all my life. All those years and yet every time I see her, it feels like she is the best thing out there. Always makes me happy just to see her, and spend time with her.
I took my hand to slowly stroke her face when her phone pinged. It was a text from Casey.
'Hey Baby, How did the night go?' it asked and I immediately retreated my hand.
Does Casey even know how lucky he is? I thought and slowly took my steps back. I closed the windows so that she could have the dark to sleep well and made my way to the couch.
Did I make a mistake? Not telling her the truth. That I am madly in love with her.
