The frogerfly Yeron

CHAPTER 2

The next day started the same, that was until Jezzi walked out the door and remembered the tadpole. Heading down Jessi smiled waving at others as she usually did. She was rather confused at so many were not waving back or looking very angry. Very confused she headed to check on Yeron.

"If your not careful you're gonna get eaten." came a small voice from over by the lily pads.

"Excuse me?" She asks, turning to see a young ladybug.

"Do you really think it's a test?" The tiny bug asked. "What do you think will happen if that's right?"

"I'm not sure. I think it will be good ....as long as....." jezzi was interrupted by an angry voice.

"DOT!!" A larger lady bug yelled rushing around the bend. "Who are you talking to?" she grumbled. As she rushed over not even noticing Jezzi as she looked over Dot.

She flew up out of reach."The lady over the pond." Dot stated landing on the lily pad looking down in the water hoping to see the thing that hatched.

The woman turned quickly around looking directly across the pond. "Oh!? ....." She looked at jezzi, giving a dark expression before returning back to her kid. "Let's go Dot." She continued on doing all she could to blatantly avoiding any interactions with Jezzi before she took off with her kid. "Ok?" Jezzi shrugged not understanding the behavior. Jezzi was a bit dense on social cues.

As she headed in Yeron's room she started pondering what to do to help this sweet baby.

She started talking as she walked over sitting by the tadpole. "So I was thinking we need to get basic schooling before we can try to get you school if you can." She hoped, " if you sit out side of the pond you could learn with the other pupa......hmmm would that help you?" Yeron looked at her intensely.

"I know it sounds silly." She sighed sitting next to the water. Giggling softly "I know you're just a baby, but I need to talk to someone." Yeron swam in a circle and jumped up splashing her slightly. "What was that?" She chuckled as he Swam closer giving a big smile 

The two of them headed out so a she could show the city. As she was flying the edge of the water. She started noticing weird looks.

"why did you bring that thing here?" A young voice called out. " My dad says it should be destroyed to protect our home! He is going to grow up and eat us, we are his food correct?" Stopping Jezzi turned seeing a very small pupa.

"Did he ever tell you that egg was left where it was for told a new species would be born " she asked looking at him curiously. Yeron looked up at the two.

"The Elders say it was changed by a cruel joke." The kid stated rudely.

" What!?" Jezzi looked puzzled."How?.....who? You have to be joking?" She started towards the city.

"you and that cannot pass the gate." A deep stern voice came from behind her. She turned to see a guard, he was a very large beatlel. "There was a long decision last night about this dangerous creature. FROG! NOT HAPPENING." He returned to his post by the gate. "The council has spoken and it's to high of a risk.  Now remove it." The guard ordered.

"Whatever! Fine!" Jezzi walked off rather frustrated grumbling " What is wrong with them?! This is a once in a lifetime chance. The council will...." Her grumbling fading into more mutter then actual words. " Well I guess it will be me as your teacher. First is language." She sighed slightly trying to think of where exactly to start.

"Your ability to understand." She walked Yeron to a grove rarely used. A bit dark and many myths about spooky things. Jezzi never believed it, silly spooky things. Jezzi had always been strong.

That first day showed that Yeron was a baby curious about everything a bit clumsy becoming a lily pad nibbler  Jezzi interested to see the diet that would be choosen.  Pleased it would be a plant, realizing there was nothing else that could be eaten. She giggled at herself.

The time the two spent together was understanding each other. The relationship was good like a family. Jezzi heard a snap behind her, what dose she see but the same young ladybug. "So you really think it's more then just a frog?" She asked rocking on her heals.

" I believe Yeron was placed here for a reason. But not to eat the inhabitants of Bug City. " Jezzi chuckled shaking her head a bit. "No,no definitely ment to be" she stared firmly. " It will be proven that Yeron is what was ment hatch here and help grow the opportunity to explore more of the grove. Maybe safely due to frog protection" she smiled to Dot

"Yeah that could be fun. I will do my best to help" Dot smiled

" You have school right?" Jezzi just thought Dot might help Yeron in school stuff as he gets to that age.

"I do but I can help after." Dot spoke with a strong determination that would assist in this enigma of a frog.

"Okay, if you don't mind you will be very helpful." Jezzi started sitting next to Yeron in the pond "What do you  say to a story?" Yeron got comfortable as close to the edge as possible. Dot got close to Jezzi getting close also. Both agreed excitedly to a story.
