When my eyes opened, I smiled at Hwa, who lay snuggled into me still fast asleep.
I tried to move, but the arm she had over my waist stiffened "Just a few more minutes" she mumbled."Wake up, we're hitting the slopes today" I whispered.
She furrowed her brows "I don't ski" her voice was just a little louder than a whisper.
"C'mon Hwa, Joshua organized this trip as a couples thing for New years"
She stuck her tongue out and kept her eyes closed "I bet you twenty bucks Cina's still asleep"
I keep losing bets to Hwa, "you're on" I grabbed my phone, and she sat up. Her hair looked like... a bird's nest.
"Well go on then, I wanna win again" she gestured to my phone. I dialed Joshua "You ready to go?"
"Well... Cina... she doesn't want to get up but I'm trying" I heard the blankets ruffle
"I don't skiiiiii leave me alone" She shouted in the background.
Hwa got out of bed and kissed my cheek "Pay up loser" She held her hand out, I grabbed it and pulled her onto me.
"Or what?" I cut the call with Joshua and stared into Hwa's brown eyes.
She didn't even bother trying to keep herself up, instead, she laid flat on top of me staring back "You're a sore loser" she played with my hair.
"I'm not a sore loser, you're a proud winner" I watched her eyes trace my face. She always looks at me like that "Stop it" I felt a blush coming on.
"Stop what" Her eyes studied mine.
"Stop looking at me like that"
She smiled "Like what?"
I lifted myself onto my elbows and Hwa adjusted herself "You know what I mean"
"Babe, you decided to date an artist... and your face is the most beautiful work of art I've come across so let me admire you" She ran her slender fingers through my hair. "Don't think you're off the hook though, I want my twenty bucks"
I groaned when she moved on my hips "Can you not do that please" I closed my eyes.
"S-sorry" she bit her lip.
"Or that, don't do that either"
She sat up right "All you do is complain, I'm gonna go shower" She got off my lap at an excruciatingly slow pace.
"Then we're going skiing?" I yelled to her, she nodded and walked to the bathroom.
Grumpy, it's not my fault that any physical contact with you drives me insane! Or that you enjoy teasing me.
Hwa and I had breakfast served by the resort, while we waited for Joshua and Cina who only joined us after we ate.
"You guys ready?" Joshua was basically jumping in excitement.
"To freeze our asses off? Yeah" Cina rolled her eyes, and Hwa grinned.
"It'll be fun Cee" she nudged her friend and picked up a flask of something...
"Lessgo" I took her hand and the four of us left the resort.
"Gyu, I have a question," Joshua asked when the girls were out of ear range.
"S.h.o.t shoot" I buckled my ski boots.
"It's s.h.O.O.t, but anyway, how do you and Hwa- you know- how do you tell her you don't want to- god this is so weird-"
"Just say it" I watched him pick at his fingers.
"How do you tell Hwa you don't want to... do it?" his face lit up like a Christmas tree.
"I- well I've never had to because Hwa doesn't really rely on that, but just be direct I guess" I shrugged "Hwa tells me if she's too tired or not in the mood and I've told her I'm not in the mood once or twice"
Joshua nodded, "What if she gets angry?"
"Cina? Then you hold her until she cools down" I felt bad for not knowing how to answer. "Maybe just cuddle with her"
I looked at Hwa and felt thankful that- for the most part- she's really easygoing.
"Okay," Joshua glided away on the snow.
After an hour of Skiing, I decided I'd force Hwa to try.
The two girls were sitting and drinking hot chocolate, talking in hushed tones
"Hwa, let's go. It's your turn" I shouted to her.
"Pass" she made an X with her arms.
"C'mon it's fun, I'll teach you" I wanted to get her away from Cina long enough to ask about Josh.
"Babe I really can't do it" she came over to me, her rented skis in her hand "How about sledding?" She offered.
I took her hand "Just try it out, on a small slope" I took her free hand "We'll be back, Cina"
I explained to Hwa what she needed to do, she held a firm grip on my arm "Gyu, I'm scared"
She steadied her breathing.
I felt a little bad for forcing her to try it, but I know she'll have fun."Just relax my darling" I repeated my instructions and watched her go down the slope. She screamed and fell at the bottom.
"That was fun!" She shouted back up "I think I did it wrong"
I joined her at the bottom, where she lay in the snow. "See- I told you it's fun"
I helped her up.
"Hwa, I have a question" I watched her smile fade slightly."Joshua and Cina?" She guessed. "They're in a slump, Cina thinks Shua is bored of her" she rambled.
"No, he's not! He's just... I don't know he wants more than sex from her but is finding it difficult to tell her and connect with her"
Hwa nodded "he needs to tell her that because Cee's on the verge of a meltdown"
"I'll talk to him"
"And I'll talk to her, now carry me back up, I wanna try skiing again" she demanded.
"Lazy ass" I commented.
"I learned from my boyfriend, the laziest lazy ass in the world" she snapped.
I smiled, glad we didn't have a problem connecting at the start of our relationship
Maybe it's better that she didn't just allow me to HAVE her, she made me get to know her first.
I followed her back to the top of the slope "Let's do a higher one?"
She shook her head "Tomorrow, let me get the hang of it first" She pushed off and glided down... falling face first at the bottom.
I'm backkkkk
Does anyone actually know how to ski? I mean it looks cool but I have 0 knowledge on it so this chapter is kinda sloppy...How have you guys been?
Don't forget to vote and comment (It's almost Christmas)...
