Euphoria: season 1

Two crushes, two girls

As Alex and Rue slept with Alex holding Rue close and Rue holding Alex's hand Rue began to think in her head about Kat for some reason. We open in the tropical beach of jamaica where the story begins.

RUE:(V.O): When Kat was 11 years old, she went on a family vacation to Sandals, Jamaica.

We open with the screams of a young Kat who has a jellyfish wrapped around her leg and screaming for help

YOUNG KAT: I need help! Someone get this jellyfish off me!

RUE:(V.O): She quickly discovered that she hated the ocean...

Later Kat is sitting on a beach chair with her mom as she reads her book, eventually a waiter comes to Kat and gives her a drink as she takes a sip of the drink her eyes go wide and lays back and enjoys the taste if the drink.

RUE(V.O): ...but fucking loved virgin piña coladas.

Instantly a slideshow of Kat's life begins to play on the wall of her house.

RUE(V.O): Up until that moment, Kat had a relatively good life. I mean, life wasn't amazing, but it's not like she fantasized about killing herself. It was good enough. She was popular enough, smart enough. The only thing that was, like, actually amazing was Daniel.

A show of a young boy with black hair showed up.

RUE(V.O): Daniel was like a dream, like, gorgeous, like, really nice. Like, the kind of boy that would text her every night before bed and say...

Under the covers Kat gets a text from Daniel which brings a smile to her face.

DANIEL(TEXT): Sweet dreams.

RUE(V.O):And the kind of boy that would meet her outside of school every morning just to make sure he could hold her hand as they walked down the hall. She could never figure out why Daniel chose her, what Daniel actually liked or loved about her. She just knew it felt really good. Whatever. It didn't matter. It's better not to jinx these things.

As a young Rue watches Kat walk down the hall with Daniel she was taken out of her trance as a young Alex taped her on the shoulder which caused her to turn around and see young Alex smiling and she smiled as the two walked down the hall as well but not holding hands which is the one thing she wanted.

Back with young Kat in jamaica who had finished her piña colada and turned to her mother who was still reading her book and asked...

YOUNG KAT: Can I have another one?

KAT'S MOM: Sure.

RUE(V.O): During her eight-day stay on that stupid island, Kat drank 72 virgin piña coladas. She was in heaven. And then she got home.

Back in the states Kat opens the door with a smile on her face to let in a young Maddy but is let down to hear what she asks...

YOUNG MADDY: Oh, my God. What happened?

Kat's smile then disappears at Maddy's question and is then revealed to have a bigger tummy the she had before as she stands at the doorway with Maddy on the other side.

RUE(V.O): When Kat had left for Jamaica, she was 107 pounds. When she returned, she weighed in at whopping...

Kat stands on the weight machine and is horrified to see that she now weighs...12.70. Kat's breath the quivers at this revelation and is now trying to pull up her pants over her legs.

YOUNG KAT: Get up!

RUE(V.O): Despite being five-two, which was tall for her age... her body was not prepared to house the extra 20 pounds. It was noticeable.
