My phone lighting up and vibrating woke me up at 2:45 in the morning. I groaned, already knowing who it was.

Cliffoconda: Can I call u?

I resisted the urge to correct the "you", and started panicking. He wants to call me. He wants to freaking call me. He wants to dial my phone number and hear my voice. My disgusting man-like voice. On the phone. Do I want to do this now? It's so early in the morning and he just woke me up, which means my voice will be groggy and hoarse and just yucky. Yet something in his simple text made my heart lurch, like he needed someone to talk to.

And the thing is, I don't think I have the heart to say no to him anymore.
