Another mission. Bucky was sick of going on missions. He was exhausted. Steve was too, but not as bad as bucky was. Steve knew why bucky was tired though, and he always told to just 'Get some sleep' and bucky would say okay, but he would stay up anyway.

Steve didn't know why this was until bucky had told him that he had nightmares every night. Buck didn't just stay up for that reason though, even though that was basically the reason he did. The reason was, was that he would think that if he just closed his eyes, got some sleep for a few minutes that something would happen.

And he thought this every night as well, so he would keep his eyes wide open at night and stare at the ceiling, just wishing that his over thinking could go away. He hated it so bad. He could never get sleep, and when he did, he would wake up clutching his chest as he would breath in and out quickly, scared about whatever horrible, terrifying messed up fucking dream he had.

He sometimes would go check on Steve, just watching him sleep in the doorway for about twenty minutes, just staring at him, making sure that he was okay and safe, because when he had a nightmare, sometimes it would be about Steve, him dying in front of him as he could only watch. He hated those ones the worst, cause Steve was all bucky had in his life, and he knew that if he lost Steve, there would be no point in living.

Bucky sat down on his seat on the jet as they, him and Steve, were flying back to the avengers tower. Bucky kept closing his eyes, but every time he did, he would open them up because again, he felt like something would happen if he closed them. Steve stared at the ground, looking down at his feet as he thought about bucky.

He could see he was tired. Absolutely exhausted. He watched him, watching as he would close his eyes and for only a second, his head would wobble to the side, meaning that he was about to fall asleep and then he would wake up again and try to keep his eyes open. He hated seeing bucky like this. It bothered him because he's been through enough.

"Buck, you should really get some sleep" Steve said from across Bucky. Bucky looked up at Steve and he honestly, full on surprised himself when he nodded okay instantly. He couldn't keep himself up anymore. He failed his fight to stay awake. He leaned his head back and let out a tired sigh of relief. "Wake me up if something happens or you need me~" bucky says, already drifting to sleep.

Steve said softly 'okay' and bucky was sleeping before he even heard Steve. He just stared at bucky. He wasn't as tired as him, but he knew the reasons why bucky was tired. He just kept his eyes on him and on the floor the whole ride back to the avengers tower. Sometimes he would get up and walk around, just thinking about random stuff. Mostly about bucky, and how he could help him sleep and all.

"Bucky. Hey, it's time to get up~" Steve said, softly tapping Bucky on the shoulder. Steve had to comfort Bucky a few hours ago because he woke up breathing really hard. It made Steve really worried, but he stayed by Bucky's side the whole ride, letting his head rest on his thighs.

He watched Buck twitch a lot in his sleep which he's never seen before from him. "Hmm~" Bucky maoned, moving his head a little, hair falling in his face. God, bucky was absolutely adorable. Steve smirked, shaking his head as he rolled his eyes. He patted Bucky's arm. "Come on Buck. You can fall asleep when we get inside" Steve says, but as he did, bucky let out a grumble, it was raspy and completely and he sounded very, very tired.

Steve didn't know Buck was this exhausted. "Steve, I can't~" Bucky says, and as he does, his head tips to the side some as he falls back to sleep for a brief moment. Steve frowned, feeling terrible that bucky had to do shit all the time. He couldn't do anything about it though. He's tried before. Fury is there to tell them what to do and what not to do, to even tell them what missions to go on, but this one, he knew it was going to tire out bucky right as they stepped into the jet to start the mission.
