"Steve~" Bucky said in the doorway of Steve's room. Steve was sat drawing on his sketchbook as he drew a city. It was taking him a while. This piece he's been doing has been taking him up to three days, tomorrow will be the fourth. He wasn't tired, even though he should be. They went on a mission just two days ago and got back today, and again, Steve should be in a deep sleep right about now, but he felt like he couldn't even close his eyes to get some rest.

He didn't understand why, but didn't really care for the simple fact that he stayed up until four o'clock before. Steve lifted his head up to see a shirtless Bucky standing in his doorway, his arms wrapped around himself as if he was cold. It wasn't cold in here right? Steve didn't think it was, but the more he looked at the man in his doorway, the more he could tell that something was wrong. Steve felt more wide awake than he had been in the past few hours.

"Hey...you okay?" Steve asked concerningly. Bucky didn't look away or even make a peep, just kept his gaze on Steve and on his sketchbook that laid in his lap, and his lap that was covered by the blanket he was halfway wrapped in. Steve took that as a 'No' he knew if bucky was actually okay, he would have answered him. It was kinda spooky, the way Buck just stood there, so quite like he was a ghost in the room.

He noticed that bucky was very quiet when coming around bedtime, or even in the morning for that matter. Now, did he think it was just a fluke? No. Did he think it was because of his nightmares and HYDRA? Absolutely. There was no doubt about it. Had bucky even ever come to Steve like he did tonight? Not at all. It was honestly a surprise to even see bucky up right now, figuring he was asleep.

The only light that illuminated the room was the street lights outside and the lamp from the corner of his room. The way it shown on bucky's form, made a creep crawl up Steve's back. Bucky blinked his eyes for the first time while standing there and looked down at his bare feet that stood on the cold floor. He didn't always go barefoot, but he knew tonight he was going to get hot from waking up in a panic from a nightmare, so he just kept his socks off for the time being.

"Come here" Steve said, shifting himself to the right side of his bed so Bucky had room to slide in and hang for a bit. Bucky looked up and he felt like he was stunned, like frozen in his spot. He hasn't had no one ask him to lay with them or even comfort them in,....well.....he doesn't even know how long. Bucky still had a lot of issues, still had things to work on with himself. He'd been thinking about a therapist, maybe getting some help perhaps, but when he thought it through, he just couldn't do anything like that right now, or even for a while.

He just got away from HYDRA not even six months ago, so he was trying to still get used to his new environment at the avengers tower, and even Steve. He didn't hate Steve of course, he loved Steve, it was just hard to show it a lot of the time. "It's okay Buck. I'm just drawing anyway" Steve gave him a soft yet comforting smile that made bucky feel a spark of something.... something as in warmth run through his veins. Bucky swallowed thickly, but did what he thought he would never do, or do for a while for the simple fact, again, trying to get used to his environment and his childhood best friend,.. and then,... he stepped through the doorway.

He stepped into Steve's room, and instantly he could smell the smell of Steve rush through his nose. The smell of cologne and coffee made Bucky smile in his head. It was the smell he would always smell, and it made him feel a nostalgia feeling course through him. It was amazingly comforting. Bucky walked carefully over to the bed, his steps light as a feather like he was trained to do it. Actually, he was trained to be quiet, even with his movements.

Steve watched as bucky kept his pace slow but kept his movement silent, like he would lash out at Buck if he were to make a noise of some sort. It broke his heart in a way he couldn't describe but let it go. He couldn't talk about why Bucky was being so quiet and very gentle with his moves. He didn't want to scare bucky off or make him nervous so he zipped his mouth shut and let Bucky do his thing.
