This was supposed to be the make up chapter...

I was young, single, and ready to mingle. I could not wait to get to the parties my friends claimed was going to be lit tonight. I made sure to get all my homework that was due Saturday, Monday and Tuesday afternoon done in preparation for my weekend to go stress free. Tonight all of Khalil's friends and all of my friends were going party hopping. A good thing about A&T was the balance. My school was known for being strong in the engineering department, but also it was a party school. I could not wait to see which parties was going to keep me hyped for the weekend.

I walked out of my room into the living room fully dressed. I was in a maxi skirt that had a vintage yellow color with a dark green color fading to black at the bottom of the skirt, just enough style and hippie look that represented my style. I simply wore a white fitted shirt with no sleeves. Sleeves might possibly show sweat stains. If the party was going to be a blast then it sure would leave me sweating buckets with so many people gathered in one small room dancing, almost like in a sauna. I would sure not want to have any sweat stains, even if no one could barely see my outfit since it was nighttime and no one dared turned on any lights inside of a house party. I wore multiple gold, black, and slightly dark green bracelets on my left arm. They looked nice for decoration so I would take pictures with the crew in them, but I was thinking of taking them off once we arrived to our first party. A watch was on my right arm and stated I had 17 more minutes till I was to meet up at Katerina's apartment. Katerina was staying over at campus green.  I decided to wear brown sandals that were comfortable to walk and stand up in for long periods of time. If this party night was any good, my feet should wear out by the end of this night.

I gathered my drivers license, my aggie one card, my wells fargo bank card and my phone from off of the counter in the kitchen. I stuffed the items in my small brown shoulder strapped bag that I would carry with me throughout the night... kept hidden under the driver's seat of my car. I would be carrying my phone and ID with me at all times in the small gap on my chest, inside of the white shirt. I had no pockets but I would make do with the empty spot to hold my items.

I grabbed my keys in my hand ready to meet up with Katerina and the rest of the females, that run the world. I may not have been a die-hard Beyonce fan, but I must say, she was so right. Females do run the world.  For instance, it was just not yesterday when I had to prove to Khalil that womenfolk run the world. We were strong independent women that didn't need a man (though having one was quite nice). My friends and I were going to allow the fellas to join us in a study session.

During that study session, we had a good 1 hour and 30 minutes of actual study and homework collaboration. Then the guys got restless and wanted to have a walk. Since we had been working diligently, the sistas of the group thought, why not? We walked to the M&M store on Eastern Market which was a block from the library off campus. We got the Arizonas drink. My flavor was fruit punch. Could never go wrong with a fruit punch flavor. Most stores had that flavor, and that's all that mattered. We were walking back to the library when the guys thought that the walk was not satisfying in a long enough break. We were only working for an hour and 30 minutes non-stop, just the other day my group had been working for 3 hours non-stop. We got our homework out of the way in one swoop. We had to persuade the guys to collect themselves and get back to work. If we procrastinated like the guys had wanted, then we would be pulling an all-nighter in hopes to eventually get the work done.

Oh I probably should have mentioned who those said distracted fellas were. We had Khalil, Mason, Josh and Justin. Justin, as in you know, Khalil's friend. Who apparently thought I would do something weird and entertaining again like I did at  East Coast Wings when I went on a "friendly date" with Khalil. So now he decided he was just going to tag along with Khalil when Khalil was hanging out my group of friends. I think it also helped because a romance might be brewing with Simone and Justin. But anyways, those were the guys in the group. Since Khalil and Mason were best buds ever since they bonded over watching the news together (who knew that the news could be so interesting for those two), Justin decided that when Mason and Khalil were having their bromance that he would talk to Simone in the meantime. The only odd ball was Josh. Josh joined our group because I invited him to eat lunch with us the day after I met him in front of the SWE poster board. My friends seemed to really like him so he was included in the group me chat which officially made him a part of our crew. He and Khalil had some unspoken underling beef going on though. I hope they could work it out soon because although no one was truly close to Josh, he did seem like a cool guy. He was just always busy and could not always hang out with us as much as we would like him to. Heck, Khalil was Mr. A&T and he hung out with me and my friends more than Josh did. But tonight Josh said he could party with us so I was pretty sure this night will bring everyone closer to Josh.

Smiling at what would probably become the party night of my sophomore year, I walked out of my apartment with a little bounce in my step. I was trilled with what is about to go down. I hurried down the steps and couldn't wait to get into my car. I drove a little above the speed limit and got to Katerina's apartment in record time. I rung the doorbell three times quick and was about to knock because I was on some adrenaline rush, when Katerina opened the door to let me in.

"You look cute," she said with a smile.

"Thanks and so do you," I told her and gave her a hug in greeting.

We walked in the living room to where the T.V. was playing cartoons. If I wasn't so gun-ho about getting to a party, it was exactly what I would be doing with a side of kettle popcorn.

"Where is everybody?" I asked as I plumped down on the couch.

"They are on their way. I know Khalil's friends Hye-su and Jesús are walking over. You didn't see them?" she asked me scrunching up her eyebrows.

"You know what... I wasn't paying any attention to anything because I was focused on coming here. I cannot wait to get out tonight," I replied back excited.

"I can tell," she chuckled at me,"if you had completed your homework last night then you could have came out with us then. Plus a girls night out is way better than a coed night out."

I laughed.

"True!" I exclaimed.

"But tonight I think will be a good one," I said just as the doorbell rings. Oh I knew tonight would be a good one alright. I just could not sit still. So naturally I opened the door after seeing that it was in fact Hye-su and Jesús.

"Let partay begin!" I shouted once I opened the door. Absolutely could not wait till everybody got here.

Sorry, sometimes life happens and you can't make deadlines. I now see why most people work part time instead of full time when they are in school. Don't do it folks, unless you absolutely have to.
