Backstory:
Kevyn's parents weren't affectionate to them since they were born (this included his siblings), this caused Kevyn problems growing up
Despite being half-witch, he was born without magic (I'll elaborate to that later), they were bullied throughout most of their life because of that
When he was 6, his brother, Kaleb, ran away from home, leaving them and their other siblings alone
Kevyn often has intrusive thoughts about killing or torturing his bullies (and other people who make him feel bad) and stuff like that, they always feel like a monster and capable to do something like that even though the mere sight (and even smell) of blood makes them faint
Kevyn was always a big fan of Obsidian, he wanted to be powerful like them, they always thought they were special and that someday he would show his bullies that he was actually more important than their classmates
One day, he saw Astrid about to get attacked by a shadowlet, and he jumped to her to avoid her getting hurt (love at first sight but who can blame them), her parents (by parents I mean Obsidian and Aiden lol) saw it and Kevyn was pretty excited to meet his idol, Obsidian told them they saw potential on them and that someone like him would make a good apprentice, Obsidian told their parents and they allowed him to be their apprentice, Kevyn was transferred from his school to Kaxnora academ
He immediately got attached to Obsidian and Aiden, like I said before, his parents’s emotional neglect affected them, Kevyn wanted to do anything to please both Obsidian and Aiden so they can praise him and tell them they did a good job, however, Obsidian told them that it wasn’t necessary to do all that, Kevyn was confused but obliged, Kevyn immediately saw them both as family
When he was 10, they meet Leila, they both bonded immediately due relating to each other (bullying, neglectful parents, etc), and Leila even helped them to get with Astrid
He became friends with Blake at his current age, despite their differences Kevyn adored spending time with him, their friendship broke after he knew Blake's true intentions (and dragged some humans along the way), despite everything, they got along again (with a lot of character development included, ofc) and even both saw each other as siblings
