Love Departed
Written for school magazine, redone for creative writing assignment
-Free Verse-By the time we close our eyes,
the moon would say goodbye. So long the night,
here comes dawn.
The shadows are
forever gone.By the time we start the car,
the gas had turned to tar.In our revelation,
red lights flare
at our carelessness
and passing glares.By the time we catch our breath,
the tide has surely left. The ocean's light waves
wash away
the songs in the sand
that we'd paved.By the time we finally realized,
our love had turned to lies.We started out whole-hearted
with pure intentions and desires.
With broken hearts in our hands,
our love has now departed.
