Medusozoa
Published in school literary magazine, recently rewritten for this book
-Free verse-

They latch on to an unsuspecting victim.
It hooks itself to your back, stings you
and leave your mind numb.

Sharp in your spine,
it takes over,
Love on your mind.

You're addicted to the pain,
won't try to rip it from your back.
Your love is insane.

Yet you want it gone,
but it is not something
You can simply pawn.

You're indecisive,
like a child.
That's no way to live.

It becomes your handicap
because you dared
to fall into its trap.

You sink lower and lower
into the sea due to
the wrath of the medusozoa.
