Weakling Willow
Written before bed while listening to music
-free verse-

If a weeping willow
starts to perk up,
does it become less beautiful?

She is not a creature of confidence.

The tree's misery
give it its own special mystery
that is often not really considered.

Her despair is her best feature after all.

All trees are pretty
but this one
has a saddening charm.

Rain or shine doesn't dampen her mood.

Its brittle branches
are too delicate to hold
her own weight.

How can she continue to grow?

She gets pushed around
by bullies too often.
The wind is way to harsh.

Is weakness so beautiful?
