Music will Save
Written for Creative Writing assignment and practicing sonnets
-a sonnet-
When people say that music saved their life,
I would believe them if they were more clear.
Did rock n' roll save you from a sharp knife?
Or another pointy thing like a spear?
Did music pull you from a burning car?
Did it cure you from a fatal disease
or save you from a fight that left a scar?
Did it give you a coat so you won't freeze?
No, it didn't do any of those things
but I believe that music could save you.
It's more than lyrics you search up on Bing
or songs you listen to when you are blue.
Those melodies and word have the power
to cheer you up in your darkest hour.
