After getting me ready for the nikkah, Mrs. Nabeela and the beauticians left me alone in the beauty room. I knew I had to act quickly if I wanted to escape. I stood up from the stool and made my way towards the window, peering down below. There was no one in sight. If I could find a way to climb down from the window, I could make my escape through the back door just across the backyard. I needed something to help me climb down though. As I pondered, my eyes landed on the closet, and an idea instantly sparked in my mind. I hurriedly ran towards the closet and opened it, revealing a collection of dupattas and scarves. I grabbed them all and began working on my escape plan.
I tied all 17 scarves and dupattas together to create a rope-like structure that could lead me down to the backyard from the window. I needed to find something to secure it in place while I climbed down. As I looked around, I noticed a small pillar-like object between the vanity drawers, the vanity was embedded in the wall so it seems perfect for tying the rope-like structure I have built. I securely fastened the dupattas to the little pillar, then opened the window and threw the duppata down. I didn't dare to look down because I'm terrified of heights, and I knew that if I did, I wouldn't be able to go through with the plan.
I couldn't help but hope that the duppatas would be strong enough to support my weight. With the dupatta in hand, I started my daring descent down the makeshift rope. The adrenaline pumped through my veins as I inched my way down. But then, in the midst of my escape, I felt a sudden shift. My heart skipped a beat as I realized the knot was coming loose.
"Oh my God, please don't let me fall. I can't afford for these knots to come undone," I mumbled, my voice trembling with worry. The fear of the unknown gripped me tightly as I continued my descent. But just as I finished uttering those desperate words, my worst fear became a reality. The knot tied to the vanity got very loose, and I found myself suspended in mid-air, my heart pounding in my chest. I could fall at any time. I didn't dare to look down once or I would die of fear even before I could reach on the ground falling.
The world seemed to stand still as I dangled there, the ground far below me. Panic surged through my body, but I knew I had to stay calm. With every ounce of strength and determination, I fought against the fear and uncertainty. Gripping the remaining fabric tightly, I searched for a solution, a way to regain control of the situation.
In that moment, time seemed to stretch, as if I was trapped in a surreal dream. Thoughts raced through my mind, and I knew I had to act quickly. With a surge of adrenaline, I summoned all my courage and made a desperate leap towards the nearest ledge, hoping against all odds that it would be within reach.
The world spun around me as I reached out, my fingers grazing the rough surface of the ledge. Unfortunately, I couldn't grip on the ledge and fell to the ground.
"Ah!"
As I was falling, I heard a voice. It was coming from below me, like the ground was screaming or something. I couldn't help but open my eyes, and when I did, I just froze in place.Turns out, the source of that sound was right here, staring back at me with anger filled in his eyes. He looked at me with an expression like he was ready to eat me alive.
