Louis' birthday was the next day and Harry was just in the kitchen. He was making the cake. Louis was lying on the couch with Friends playing on the tv. Usually he would spend most of the time sleeping and watching some tv. Harry would be with him, but he had to finish his cake. He made it himself. It had vanilla and strawberry filling and he decided to cover it all in some baby blue cream. When he had done all that he grabbed some white icing in a tube.
"Don't fuck this up." he told himself, before he leaned down, closer towards the cake. With his tongue poking out, he wrote 'Happy 24th birthday Lou' on top of the cake. It actually looked nice and he had to clap his hands at the result.
Afterwards he sprinkled some edible gold glitter to the parts where the cake didn't have any letters and he was done with it.

He could hear the tv stopped playing, which was a sign that Louis needed something. Harry put the cake into the fridge quickly, going into the living room to check what was going on.

Louis' eyes were trained on him as soon as he walked into the room.
"What's up?" he asked, sitting down on the couch, right where Louis' legs were resting.

Louis was asking repeatedly, but Harry didn't give him an answer. That's how he realized that no words actually came out. It was just inside of his head. Harry didn't know what was going on inside of his head, so how could he answer?
Louis saddened, turning away from Harry as tears spilled from his eyes.
"Lou, it's okay. Take your time." Harry said encouragingly, even though he was well aware he wasn't going to hear Louis talk again.

Instead of saying what he wanted to say, Louis pointed at Harry. After that he created a heart with his hands.
"I love you too." Harry smiled before he leaned closer, pecking Louis' lips.
Louis felt happy and sad all at the same time. He just wished he could talk to Harry normally again. He wished he could use his words.

"I will go finish our lunch now." Harry smiled before he got up. He told Louis he was making their lunch while he was actually working on his birthday cake. It was a little white lie. He really wanted it to be a surprise for his boyfriend. The cake, the presents, the decorations, just everything...

Harry got up which made Louis whine. He reached out with his hands, wanting to prevent Harry from leaving.
"You need to eat, Lou. You have only eaten some of the watermelon in the morning. That's not enough." Louis scrunched his nose, not wanting to eat. Food wasn't making him feel good, not even thinking much about food.

"You don't have to eat it all, you know that. We will just try a bite, yeah?" Harry hated to treat Louis like a child, but... it was what it was. Louis had to eat. He had to get some nutrition in for his body to work. He wasn't doing much activities anymore, but that didn't mean he could live without food.

Harry went into the kitchen and brought out a lasagna that he had made early in the morning. When it was done after a while of baking, Harry served two portions for them. He brought it into the living room, being surprised to see Louis standing by the window.

He was staring outside with an unreadable expression plastered on his face. When Louis noticed Harry's presence he went back to the couch.
"Wanna go outside?" Harry turned around, making his way towards the couch as well.

Louis nodded slightly while taking one plate of lasagna from Harry's hands.
"Wanna go to the park?" Harry smiled as he remembered the first time him and Louis went there.
Louis nodded as he grabbed his fork.
Harry smiled, grabbing his own fork as well.

He was starving, so he digged in straight away.
Louis cut himself a little piece, putting it carefully in his mouth.
He quite liked the taste which was great because he could eat some. Some foods were making him feel sick just from the taste, some even from the smell, but this seemed like a good option for their lunch.
