Prologue

━━
" You disgust me, trying to impersonate the divine. Only a fool would do such an act. "

━━

A/N: Important note. I realized that not everyone knows what h/c-ette means (my cowriter said it meant head canon ette...) so i will clarify that it means hair color!

"AGH!" A h/c-ette screams, almost throwing their iPad against the wall, before suddenly stopping and putting their head in their hands. Their fake cries fill the room, and the person on the other side of the phone quickly becomes exasperated.

"Oh my gosh Y/N! Shut the fuck up." the blonde groans, "We can just fight him again it's fine. Childe won't get us next time if you just FUCKING USE KOKOMI, I MEAN WHY DID YOU EVEN PULL FOR HER IF YOU DON'T USE HER?!?! " Miya yells into her mike, causing Y/N to gasp dramatically.

"My Yao Yao is the best healer!" they exclaim, before mumbling out that they just need to get her ascension mats so she doesn't stay at level 70. Miya just rolls her eyes and sighs, before teleporting to the nearest Statue of the Seven and healing herself with Y/N following close behind. Finally, the two of them teleport back to the Childe fight one last time.

"Fine, I'll use her, just for you Miya." Y/N does little heart fingers in front of their camera before immediately switching their team around. "Just so you know though, after this fight, I gotta go. I have tons of homework that I need to procrastinate, my dad's paying me to finish it!" They explain.

"Okay fine, let's get this over with then. You need more money if you want to spoil me with Welkins again," the blonde jokes, "and maybe you can buy some for yourself. And then you can finally get Furina instead of Qiqi this time!"

"Qiqi is the bane of my existence, I swear to god. I just want the baby girl like, calm down Qiqi. I love you, but not right now." Y/N groans, before closing their iPad, the fight finally being done. They say bye to their friend before getting up and stretching their arms, sighing in satisfaction as their arms pop.

"Time to suffer." They say, their words filled with sarcasm. They sit down at their desk and open their laptop to Google Classroom, getting started on their homework. No less than two seconds later they switch to Spotify, putting on their favorite playlist before getting back to work.

━━

A few hours later

━━

Y/N lightly slams their head against their table in frustration, unable to figure out this one math equation for their homework. Giving up, they go lie on their bed and pull out their iPad, opening Genshin. After farming for a few hours, they decide to finally go around Inazuma and collect a few electroculus. Normally they would stay out of Inazuma at any cost, avoiding it like the plague. But today they decided to stray away from their normal choice.

Bad choice.

"I'M LEAVING AND NEVER COMING BACK, YOU CAN KEEP THE KIDS, RAIDEN," Y/N exclaims, tears pooling in their eyes as they teleport back to one of the statues of the seven in Inazuma to turn in the 3 measly electroculus they collected before immediately teleporting to Mondstadt. At least they got a couple of primos from leveling it up.

They shut off their iPad and decide to pass the time by finishing their homework, even though they dread it. Moving their hair out of their eyes they sigh, and get back to work.

━━

A little bit later

━━

After the excruciating pain of their homework, they decide to get ready and go to bed. Y/N lays their head down on their pillow. They accidentally lay down on their iPad though, so they move it out of the way, but not before noticing a weird notification from Genshin.

CLICK HERE FOR FREE PRIMOGEMS!!! LIMITED OFFER!!! COME QUICK!!!"

They skeptically click on the notification, and it opens up the app. 'Hopefully not a scam, but anything for the freemogems' they think. They load in and check their balance, but there's no new primogems there.

"Maybe a hacker made a fake notification..?" They mutter under their breath as they shut off their iPad. They put it next to them and lay down, falling asleep almost immediately. Suddenly, some sort of glitch happens on their iPad, causing Y/N to get shocked by some loose electricity. Instead of waking up, they just murmur in their sleep before turning around.

Then, in a blink of an eye, they wake up in a pond. They flail their arms around for a couple of seconds before realizing they're underwater. As quickly as they can, they make their way to the surface and swim to a piece of land with a kind of statue on it. As they get closer, they come to the realization that it is a... Statue of the Seven?

"What the fuck..." They mutter, before getting out of the water and running their hands through their hair to get some of the water out. Slowly, they approach the statue and run their hands along the base.

"Am I dreaming..?"

They pinch their arm softly and confirm that no, they are in fact not dreaming. They look up in a sort of wonder as they realize how large the statue really is. As they turn away from the statue, they realize how large everything truly is. From the trees surrounding the pond to the fish in the water. It blows their mind thinking about how they are in their favorite game.

From their vantage point (which they're pretty sure is where the traveler first unlocks their anemo powers) they can't see any kind of civilization. Getting closer to the edge of the mini island, they look in the water at their reflection. Y/N still looks the same as always and is in the same clothes they were wearing before they fell asleep. Though right now they are soaking wet.

Breathing out softly, they drop themself back into the water and swim across.

As they get out of the water, they realize they are shaking, but are not sure if it's from the cold of the water, excitement, or nervousness of meeting some of their favorite characters.

As they follow the path for a little while, (a little while being 2 hours), they look up to see the city of Mondstadt just a mile or two in front of them. Getting closer they notice a waypoint next to the path. These are also massive, just not nearly as large as the Statue of the Seven.

They approach the waypoint with mild caution and touch it to see if they can maybe unlock the waypoint. They wait in silent anticipation for something to happen, but nothing does. Groaning, they continue on their path, grumbling slightly about having to walk everywhere and that it's not fair that the traveler gets to teleport.

Before they know it, they're in front of the bridge that leads to the city. Observing it in wonder, they realize how large the city is compared to the game. Silently they're thankful about the gigabytes the downsize saved.

A/N:

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it! I'm sorry when I originally posted the prologue was so hard to read. Hopefully, with my two editors and my beta reader, I can post much more coherent chapters. Thank you! And don't forget to vote and comment. I love hearing your opinions!
