Chapter 10

To the sound of knocking, Y/N sits up and stretches. They roll their neck around and crack their knuckles, resting their head against their headboard before groaning in annoyance and standing up. They take a second to let the feeling get back into their legs.

Y/N approaches the door and unlocks it, coming face-to-face with Kazuha.

"Hello, Angel. I hope you slept well. We have arrived in Liyue again."

He smiles softly before hugging them and slipping something in their pocket. Y/N looks up, seeing Kazuha's reassuring smile. As they walk off the ship, the crew sends their regards to them. Only one person, on the top of the crow's nest, glares down at them. They ignore this, knowing that people still think they're fake.

Honestly, I may actually be their so-called "Creator"... I mean, I bleed gold, like the Greek gods. Imagine if I could control the elements like the book said... That would be so cool! I'll have to try that later.

They step off the boat and look around before making sure to raise their hood and lower their head to roam around Liyue Harbor.

Eventually, when there are almost no people around, Y/N raises their head, their watchful eyes looking out for the Millelith. They stop by a basket sitting by the side of the alley and rummage through it, finding some surprisingly fresh-looking Mora Meat.

They smell it, trying to determine if it is poisoned, before cautiously taking a bite. They chew it slowly, closing their eyes and trying to find weird tastes in it. Luckily, nothing seems odd. They scarf it down despite the realization that they haven't been hungry at all here.

Once Y/N finishes, they continue on their journey, avoiding as many people as possible and trying to keep their head down when they do pass people. It may look suspicious, but being suspicious is better than being dead.

They round a corner and look up, seeing their path blocked by two Millelith. They lower their head so that they're looking at their feet now. Unfortunately, it's not enough to avoid detection.

"Excuse me." An unfamiliar voice states. They keep walking. Hopefully, the Millelith are asking someone else.

"Excuse me." The voice repeats, more insistent this time. Y/N glances up.

"I apologize for the inconvenience, but can you look up, please? We are looking for a false god by the orders of the Qixing, and as such we have to check everyone that comes this way."

They shake their head no and try to speed walk through the opening, keeping their head down and staring at their feet, knowing that it's making them look even more suspicious. The Millelith cross their spears to stop them, asking them to just show their face.

Aw shit here we go again... Will I ever catch a break from all this running away?

Instead of that, they turn around and walk away. The guards follow them, their giant hands grabbing onto Y/N's shoulders firmly. Eyes watering, they do their best to shake the guards off and run away. Although they do their best, they're not the most athletic person, and with everything they've been through in their time here, they're... for lack of better words... fucking exhausted. As the sweat drips off their face, they come to a realization.

I'm never gonna outrun them. I don't even have a chance. So, maybe I should try using anemo to speed myself up or something. It's either this or get caught by the Millelith, and while I would LOVE to meet Ningguang, I have a feeling she wouldn't love to meet me.
