Thank you for not fighting for me.
After we went our separate ways, I found my person, my actual person. I found someone who chose me first. I wasn't a pit stop to him, but rather the final destination. He makes me smile and feel wanted in a way you were never capable of. His face lights up when he sees me, like I'm his entire world. I've never felt this type of affection before and had you chosen me, that would've stayed true.
He's proud to be with me and doesn't want to keep us a secret. He knew he wanted to be with me and asked me after two months to be official. He wasn't scared to commit to me and I to him.
Making room in my heart for someone else was the best decision of my life because I'm now with someone who makes me the happiest I've ever been. The way he looks at me makes me feel like I'm the prettiest girl in the universe. It's easy to be myself around him, he understands me in such an effortless way. I feel like I have a real future with him, something I was afraid I would never find or that I was even worthy of.
The universe has a funny way of bringing the exact right person into your life at the exact right moment. A few months earlier I would've dismissed him as being too good to be true, been afraid to open up to him. My wounds from you are finally all healed and I feel even stronger than what I did before you. As awful as the heartbreak was, I wouldn't change a single thing I had endured, because, in the end, it led me to him.
