A/N: Hi soo I'll be making things up as I go along, happy reading lol

Moon POV

The moons sure are bright tonight, Moon thought as she gazed up at the two glowing orbs in the sky. How come all three hardly appear together, though? And how are there three in the first place, anyway? Why not two or four?

Moon paused momentarily, pondering her questions, then promptly dismissed them and kept walking.

A breeze blew in from the sea, bringing with it the strong smell of seaweed.

Not exactly the best smell in Pyrrhia, but Moon still breathed in deeply. It was way better than the stuffy air back at home, in the rainforest. And this was the only time where she wasn't confined to the house and the backyard.

If Secretkeeper, her mother, found out, she'd probably duct tape Moon to her bed. "You should know better," she'd probably say. "It isn't safe outside."

Moon had asked once what exactly wasn't safe outside, to which her mother had just said "do as I say".

Curious, but it wasn't like anyone else would be hanging about outside at 3 am. And this was the only way she could deal with her insomnia.

On the far end of the shore, a white-ish glimmer caught her eye.

Hmm...what's that? she wondered as she walked closer.

Turns out it was a fellow dragon, staring off into the distance with arctic blue eyes.

Upon closer inspection, the dragon was a male and seemed to be about her age. He had regally folded silver-blue wings and a rather spiky exterior courtesy of his horns and the spikes on his whip-thin tail.

He was also rather fine-looking (or at least wasn't exactly an eyesore), though Moon wasn't the best judge since the only other dragon she knew was her mother.

In fact, she didn't know there were other dragons in the area, though her mother had told her there were quite a few deep in the rainforest and in the desert.

Either way, Moon was happy for the chance to get to speak to someone new.

"Hi, let's be friends," she greeted him.

The dragon screamed (a rather shrill scream, she noted) and whipped his head around. "Who are you?" he snapped.

As he said that, Moon heard him thinking, Shouldn't a NightWing have more sense than this? What's she talking to an IceWing for? And what does she mean "friends"? Doesn't she know who I am?

"Uh, does that mean I shouldn't be talking to you? And yeah, friends. Surely you know what that term means? Also I don't know who you are, sorry."

What are IceWings and NightWings? she wondered. Her mother had never mentioned those terms.

WHAT THE- SHE'S A MINDREADER?

"Uh...yeah," Moon admitted.

Surely there wasn't any harm to admitting this? Plus her mother said that friends shared secrets. And Secretkeeper had never made a huge deal about it, since Moon couldn't really even hear her thoughts.

The other dragon immediately spread his wings and took off.

"Hey- WAIT!" she yelled, then took off after him.

Was this how dragons made friends?

At any rate, she ended up tailing the other dragon for a few minutes before he landed in a field.
