Moon POV

10 seconds passed without anything happening.

Only then did Moon open her eyes, which she just realized had been closed this whole time.

Moon didn't know what she'd been expecting, but it certainly wasn't the prone body of an IceWing, scorch marks dotting parts of his body, the flames around them frozen.

Then she realized the IceWing was Winter.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHAT SHOULD I DO WHAT SHOULD I-

Calm down, she quickly told herself. Let's see what we can do. Winter obviously isn't dead, since he has a pulse. He's just unconscious, whiiich is still pretty bad actually. I could take him to the hospital in Possibility, but that's an 8 hour flight away. I'll have to drag him home. What to do...

Then Moon noticed the huge ice-blue suitcase slightly to the left. Presumably it was Winter's.

Mentally apologizing to Winter, she dragged him onto the top of the suitcase and did her best to maneuver back to her house.

She ended up crashing into a lot of people in all the chaos that still ensued, but eventually made it home.

Breathing a sigh of relief, she quickly moved him to the sofa, and rummaged around the cabinets.

I'm sure I put the burn ointment somewhere...Ah, found it!

She quickly read the labels but then found "Exp date: Jul 14, 9220."

"..."

QUICK TO THE PHARMACY!

About 20 minutes later

Moon burst in through her front door, large bags in talon. Sigh. The line had been surprisingly long and she'd wasted a few minutes haggling over the price. And she'd made a detour to buy some ice packs.

To her horror, Winter looked like he was on the brink of death by now. His scales were oddly warm, the burns looked worse than ever, and he was perspiring in great amounts.

She quickly threw the ice bags over him and smeared some of the ointment onto his burns. Then she wet a rag and draped it onto his brow. Then waited.

While she did, she switched on the television, but her panic for Winter was drowning out everything. All she heard was "...fire in town square...caused...drunk on wine...A really good daydream (insert winky face here) for just 3.99!..."

Two hours later, the television was still broadcasting, but Moon had all but stopped listening to it and was checking in on Winter.

Thankfully, his scales were less warm, and his breathing was stronger. And for some reason his burns were a lot better, maybe that was an IceWing thing?

She sighed in relief. And promptly collapsed and fell asleep.

...Maybe she'd just suddenly relaxed too much.

3 days later

Winter POV

Winter awoke but didn't open his eyes. He didn't think he had the energy for that. It's awfully warm right now...

Finding after a few minutes the strength for frostbreath, he breathed ice to his surroundings.

...That's better.

Then he drifted off to sleep.

Moon POV

Moon opened the door, talons full of groceries.

The first thing she noticed was how cold it was. She couldn't see anything though since three tomatoes were blocking her vision.

Then she took a step and slipped.

Aaand her groceries went flying everywhere.

"Oww-" she managed to say before a pumpkin fell on her head, leaving a painful welt.

Thankfully, despite the fall, only the tomatoes had been crushed. Everything else was more or less fine.

Then Moon looked at her house.

It was all covered in ice.

Well, if Winter woke up to breathe some frostbreath, he's probably going to be all right. She heaved a sigh of relief again.

Then she saw her library, which was encased in a block of ice.

MY SCROLLS!!!

The scrolls were all covered in a thin but impenetrable layer of ice that would certainly ruin the scrolls when the ice melted.

Seething, Moon glared at Winter murderously.

Not that he was awake to feel the gaze.

I swear I will kill him after he has fully recovered.
