oh, to be loved by a poet

to have my name embedded in his arteries and under his fingernails and in every crack in crevice.

to hear the sound of clattering pens and the gentle carving with which ink falls to paper in my name on his lips.

to feel.

to feel the fierce tenderness, the aggression with which kindness protrudes

like a moray eel jolting out from the rocks, mouth agape.

oh, to be loved like i love.
