It felt like it had been forever since I woke up next to her. Yawning, I glanced at Chloe's sleeping face and smiled. She looked so peaceful, almost angelic in the morning light. And happy. She looked so happy it made my heart swell up, wanting to burst because of how much love I felt for her. I could hardly contain it all. I rubbed at my eyes a little and sat up slightly, holding the covers around myself and blushing. Last night was sudden, so very sudden.. But that was how a lot of things were with her, I didn't know they were going to happen until just moments before.
Then I could feel Chloe stirring, and I saw her eyes open. It was only for a moment, then she started to close them again, her arm reaching out to pull me toward her. "Come here." I giggled slightly at how sleepy she sounded and obliged, laying my head against her shoulder as both of her arms pulled me toward her and held me there. I sighed happily. This was perfect. And I could just lay here with her forever, that would be fine with me. Anything was fine with her. How long we stayed like that, I wasn't like. Like another half an hour? That sounded about right, but I wasn't sure.
I must have fallen back to sleep at some point, only to feel lips on my neck. Causing a slight moan to slip free from my lips before I blushed and smacked her. "Stop that."
"Why, you sure liked it last night." Chloe was grinning.
"And I'm sure you really liked it too, but we should get up now." I laughed and sat up only to have her pull me back down to the bed and pin me there with the weight of her body.
"Not so fast, Caulfield."
I blushed and looked up at her in silence. Her lips found my neck again, before she made her way to my lips and started kissing them, deeply and passionately. And I felt sort of helpless to stop her, even though I didn't really want to. "Was last night not enough for you?"
Chloe smirked. "It was enough, for now. But we're going to be doing that again soon, it was even better than I imagined it would be." And with that said, she winked and let me up. "Now let's get dressed so we can go eat something. I'm hungry."
The two of us got out of bed and I found my clothes to put on while Chloe found hers. I couldn't help but stare, catching sight of Chloe's grin as she noticed. She was the only one I had ever been so wildly attracted to. Shaking my head, I finished getting dressed and we walked out of her room together. Our fingers were interlocked together as we held hands on the way down the stairs. Then it was a decision of going out to get something or staying in. Even though Chloe hated being at home, neither one of us felt like going anywhere yet.
As we sat together on the couch downstairs, Joyce was in the kitchen cooking breakfast. My head was on Chloe's shoulder, her arms holding me close to her, my back pressed right against her chest. Neither of us was aware of Joyce watching us, acting like a couple just felt natural now. Too much so to notice if we were being looked at. Maybe we were just too absorbed in each other. "Come and eat, girls." Joyce called out, and Chloe reluctantly let me go, moving toward the table with me to sit. There was silence for a while.
Joyce broke it. "So you two seem a lot closer now than before."
Was she hinting at something? I couldn't tell. But I didn't even have a chance to say anything.
"Max is my girlfriend now." Chloe admitted casually, not looking up from her food, causing yet another blush to appear on my face. She always did that, like about a million times each and every day, Chloe never failed to make me blush.
"Is that so?" Joyce didn't seem disapproving at all, just curious.
"Yep."
Then Chloe's mother looked at me and I smiled weakly. "Well I'm happy if the two of you are."
