Christmas with you (pt.2)

Emma's pov:

-"your flights been cancelled"
My expression drops. There's no way....
-"e-excuse me?"
Jenna asks, she scoffs probably hoping she miss heard the lady.
-"I'm sorry ma'am but your flights been cancelled, the pilot can't take off in this weather. The storms coming and it's only gonna get worse once your in the air"
The lady explains.
-"right....ok when do you think our flight will get rescheduled?"
Oh she's mad. And desperate. She's so gonna kill me. The lady makes a sucking noise as she thinks.

-"ummm really depends on the weather but looks like the 24th will be the earliest"
Oh fuck.
-"ok. Thank you ma'am, please inform us if anything changes"
-"of course, have a merry Christmas!"
Jenna turns as we walk away. She's mad.
-"j-jenna.."
I try to put my arm in her shoulder but she quickly turns to face me.
-"what are we gonna do!? The earliest flight is fucking Christmas Eve!? Emma. I HAVE to be HOME by Christmas Eve!!"
She yells, her face is getting red and she's fighting back tears.

I feel awful. If I hadn't dragged her on this trip she would've been home a few days ago. I look at her and some of her tears start to fall. I frown and sigh a bit. I pull her into a hug and she lets it out as I pat her back. I feel tears start to form in my eyes but I have no reason to cry.
-"I-i told my mom I'd be able to make it, a-all my siblings are gonna be there"
She says through a sob. I think for a moment, looking around. There's GOTTA be something I can do. I spot a sign for a car dealership and one for travel discounts and an idea pops into my mind.

I push her off of me and hold her shoulders so she's facing me.
-"and so will you"
I say confidently. She sniffles and wipes some tears away.
-"and how do you suppose that'll happen? All the planes are down cuz the upcoming storm"
-"cuz I have a plan my dear friend"
She looks at me for a moment, clearly doubtful and suspicious of my plan.

Jenna's pov:

Ok I'll bite.
-"what's your plan Em?"
I ask. She smiles very determinedly and grabs my shoulders firmly.
-"We're...going on a road trip"
I look at her unamused.
-"uh huh and how exactly do you propose we do that in a snow storm?"
-"the storms not here yet. And it's not like neither of us can drive"
She says.
-"there's a car dealership not far, maybe we can buy or rent one for cheap! I got you into this so have some faith that I can get ya out"
I look at her for a moment, skeptical on if we could really pull this off.

-"....mmnmm...ok fine"
I say finally.
-"hell yeah!"
She exclaims, jumping up. I smile as I look at her, I love how optimistic and bright she always is.
-"c'mon let's go"
She says, taking my hand and running off.
