Amber's pov:

Ding!
Tiredly I get up to check my phone. I see that I've gotten a text from Tara.
-"fuck Tara it's only 7:30"
I whine as I open the message.

-"Morningg!"

I laugh a bit. I may be tired as hell but fuck she's just too adorable.

-"looks like someone's in a good mood"
-"not especially"
-"then why are you up texting 😭"
-"omg I'm so sorry did I wake you?? 😭"
-"well kinda but that's fine"
-"I didn't even realize the time 😭 I just woke up early cuz my mom left town for work this morning"

Oh that's right...I forgot Tara's mom was leaving for a few weeks. She's normally gone pretty often, god I hate her family. Her dad left her, her sister left her, and her moms never there. God I despise them.

-"ohh right I forgot about that :/ well hey I'm not doing anything today, how about we hang out and have some fun?"
-"aww really? 🥹"
-"ofc I figured you'd like a distraction from being alone"
-"thanks Am your seriously the best ☺️"

Tara's pov:

-"anything for you 😉🥰"

Amber texts. I feel my face heat up and I fall to my bed squealing like a little girl. Ughh Amber why must you be so flirty all the damn time!?

-"shall I come over or what do ya wanna do?"

She asks.

-"hmm well your the one who technically invited me...how bout you plan something?"
-"DEAL! I'll plan the best day for you Tara"

I feel my face burn up again.

-"great just text me when and where to meet up"
-"you got it 😉"

Amber's pov:

Haha! This is fantastic! I'll plan the perfect day, maybe even do a sleepover, and by tonight I'll confess. Tara's the only one for me I really can't picture myself liking anyone else so I really need her to reciprocate...

I pull out a pen and some paper.
-"ok ok let's see...we can start at Fredricks ice cream shop, stroll around the plaza...hm let's see..."
I pull out my phone to check movies.
-"ok so if we meet up at 2 get ice cream, walk the plaza, and then see a movie we should be done by 6? Maybe 6:30...from there we could go to the arcade, I suggest a sleepover, we order pizza and boom perfect day planned"
I say leaning back in my chair, quite pleased with my planning skills.

I quickly tally up the total cost of everything.
-"crap 96 dollars...might as well round up and make it a hundred"
I say with a shrug as I go to double check my wallet. Sure Tara will probably want to help pay for basically everything but you don't win someone's heart by splitting the cost. If I want today to run smoothly AND win her heart I can't afford not to pay.

Tara's pov:

Ok so it's alright 9:30, is that too early to start getting ready? I mean she's just a friend so it's not like I gotta get SUPER glamed up but like this is also Amber that I'm hanging with..you know what I think 9:30 is the perfect time to get ready.

Ding!
I hear my phone go off. It's Amber telling me what time she wants to meet up and sending me a flirty message right after. I quickly respond and instantly FaceTime Mindy.
-"yo"
She says as she picks up.
-"Mindyyyy it's happening again"
I whine.
-"ah you mean your little Amber situation? Honestly I say just fuck her already"
She replies with a smile and shrug. I feel my face burn from her comment.
-"ughh no no no Ambers my best friend also I'm not gay"
Mindys face changes to serious and unamused.
-"Tara, sweetie. Your gay"
She says quite bluntly.

-"I-I like boys!"
-"ok ok you know what I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt. You do act straight...just not around Amber"
She says with a slight smirk.
-"that doesn't mean I'm gayy, Ambers just very flirty AND pretty, who wouldn't get flustered around her??"
-"babes, your in denial. Don't worry I'm here for you when you come out the closet and embrace your gayness"
She says in a teasing way as she makes a kissy face.
-"ugh your so annoying!"
I yell, mostly joking.
-"love ya too babes"
She says with a wink.

-"so what brought on your whole flusteredness today?"
-"well since my mom already left for New York Amber said she really wanted to make the day special for me so now she's planning what we're gonna do"
I say slightly covering my face as I blush. Mindy's eyes instantly light up.
-"Omg so a date"
She states. I feel myself blush more, why is Mindy always so blunt with this stuff??
-"no no not a date, just two best friends hanging together"
-"awww you want it to be a datee"
She says excitedly.
