Chapter 16
We've been walking for almost 2 hours and Mrs. Stanley is getting restless. "Do you know where you're going Charlie? It's okay if you don't, but could you at least confess," she asks. I chuckle, "Mrs. S, I know where we're going. It's okay. I used to go to this place when I was younger. Hopefully, Stacy made it." "What do you mean Stacy, didn't she try to kill you," he asks me. I full out laugh, "Yes, but in retrospect I tried to kill her too." He doesn't respond and we continue walking. I start running my hands on the "walls" and feeling for indentations. I find one and stop. I push 3 times and then completely shove against the wall. It gives way and we walk up the stairs and back up to regular ground. I turn around and everyone has shocked faces. The dirt falls back onto the hole we just walked out of. We start walking and I follow the marks I put onto the trees. The sun starts setting and eventually we are in front of the house. I walk in and I see Stacy. "Hey Stacy, how long have you been here," I ask. She shrugs, "I've been walking since yesterday, so I don't know. You conveniently didn't place clocks in here." I smile, "I have an old time system, I'll show you guys tomorrow." Everyone walks into the house and we all sit around on the couches. "How did you afford this," Alyssa asks breaking the silence. I reply, "I didn't buy this at all. I found it and I killed the owner." Harmonique gasps, "You killed someone for a house? What the hell is wrong with you," she asks. I start laughing, "I was just kidding. Ms. Reaver passed away last year. If I had come to visit her on time I could have saved her, but she did leave a note. She told me that her time was fast approaching and that here I would have everything I need, everything," I say. Jake opens his mouth, but I shush him. "I'm fine," I say knowing what he was going to ask me. Ravenna asks, "Do you have a plan Ms. Unstoppable?" I snap back, "Who am I, Kim Possible. I am not your leader. I never will be a leader. I'm just doing what I need to do to save the name of my parents. They were wrongfully accused of crimes they never committed and they died to protect me." She stops glaring at me and I storm upstairs with Jake and Mrs. Stanley on my heel. "Jake please," he already knows what I mean. He'll be back later. He's going to sit back downstairs and wait for Mrs. Stanley to return so he can talk about a plan. Mrs. S walks into the room and she sits on the bed with me. "You miss your parents and you miss Reaver, don't you? You can cry it's okay," she says to me. I shake my head, "I don't need to cry Mrs. Stanley. We can just move on." She nods and walks back downstairs. I walk out after she does and walk to the little thing that carries me downstairs. No one knows about it except for me. I sit and listen to their conversation. "We need to tell her the truth Oakland," Mrs. S says to him. Jake says, "She doesn't need to know that Mister is her father Stanley. She doesn't need to know that her father is someone who wants to use her as a weapon. She doesn't need to know that her real father killed the love of his life for cheating. She doesn't need to know any of that." I feel the tear roll down my face. I quickly wipe it away and continue listening to the conversation. "I told Mister the location he'll be here soon," Mr. Oakland says. I go back up to my room and lay down. I thought I could trust these people.
