Chapter 17
I've just been up here thinking to myself about everything they said. I walk downstairs and they all have looks of fake panic on their face. "He found us," Jake says. I begin faking just like they are. Mister walks in and everyone is "captured" and taken outside. "I'm glad you're here with me," he says. I sit down, "What could you possibly want from me today Mister," I ask. He smirks, "I want you to work for me," he says. I nod, "You want a lot of things Mister. I'm assuming you normally get what you want. That's not going to happen this time." He chuckles, "On the contrary darling. I'll kill them all in front of you until you crack." I chuckle right back, "I don't care. At all. You can do whatever, but you wouldn't dare kill them. You want my loyalty and killing those close to me wouldn't gain it. They are extremely loyal to you, you wouldn't want to kill them. You've already nipped their outbreaks in the bud. They are sitting peacefully in the van you have there. They called you here didn't they, well accidently. They left clues they didn't know about, you should train them better," I say back. I almost slipped and let out that I knew he was my dad. He smiles and walks out, "I'm assuming you'll be okay. You have 1 hour to part with this house before you are forcibly removed," he says. He walks out and I'm left alone to be in the house. I get back in the secret space and realize that it can go lower than the base floor. I get off and walk into a crazily, fancy room. I look around and I find a desk with several papers on it. There are pictures of Mister and a file with a name on it. His real name is Santiago, so I'm part Spanish? I read through his file and my mom did cheat on him with "dad." He was heartbroken and then someone got into his ear, but who? Someone who was a founding member, but all of them are dead. Except one, it's a male. I read through my file and everyone else's file. Then I find another note:
Dear Charlita,
I know you never liked your full name, but I loved it. I'm the one who named you. I'm your grandmother and I'm sorry I couldn't tell you before. I love you very much and I did what I needed to do to protect you. Hopefully you can forgive me for not telling you the truth. I'm hoping you know that Mister is your father, and that he loves you, very much. He has let your mother's betrayal tear him apart. Your mother was a whore and you need to know that what they are saying is not true. You need to find out the truth about everything. The name on your birth certificate is Charlie and everyone knows that. You can't tell them your real name. The kid Jake, he really is a lovely boy. You can trust him. The Stanley girl is basically your mother and you should love her. I don't know who else you've met, and I pray to God they are all on your side. Be on the lookout for everything. Stay Sharp.
With love,
Grandma Reaver
